R.I.P. Stan Lee and what he meant to me. (as a fan and as an aspiring artist and writer)
I'm sure that many of you are aware that Stan Lee (one of the co-creators of Marvel Comics) has passed away. He was sent into the hospital for Pneumonia and he unfortunately never came back out. My condolences to his family, friends, and associates who are currently mourning their loss. This is painful news to me in particular because he was one of my major influences as an artist, graphic designer, and writer! I found him to be very influential and he has made many great stories. I say that because I am creating my own fictional universe and a decent percentage of my influence is derived from his work. For example; two of my characters Rahn and Sapphirion were inspired by his. Rahn was inspired by The Lizard and Wolverine, Sapphirion was inspired by Iron Man and Dr. Strange. The list goes on and on. That's just how much he meant to me in my life as an aspiring artist, graphic designer, and writer! In other words, Stan Lee was one of my prime idols and the second reason I want to work in the comics, graphics, and animation industry. And it truly hurts me to acknowledge that I will never be able to meet him for as long as I am alive. Even though he's one, he left behind an amazing legacy with what he has created.
What were your thoughts towards him? Did he influence you in your life? Please let me know because I know for a fact that he left a major impact on a lot of people.
