Twilight Sparkle loves to read. And she's just so cute when she's at it! A passion for literature is something I share with this adorkable pony and so the idea for an automaton of her came to me rather easily. I can't say the same about Spike though, he seems hard at work lugging all those books! This is the second piece of my pony automaton series featuring characters from the show My Little Pony. Like the previous one, the characters and base (box) are hand-carved out of Philippine mahogany. The gears and books are made from Nara hardwood with the exception of the book page (that actually turns!) which is made from paper mache. All figures are painted in enamel and topped off with a flat lacquer clear coat. Lying down, Twi measures 3" high and 6" long. However the base is much bigger from before making total dimensions of 6 1/2" high, 9 1/4" long and 4 1/4" wide when Spike's stack of books pop out from the side. The entire piece took me 103.5 hours to make.

Call me sadistic......
but it would be cool to see the bandaged up, wheelchair bound Twilight.
(from the "Feeling Pinkie Keen" episode)
With the clockwork action being raising some binoculars to her eyes
while spying on PinkiePie's antics.

I thought it was funny.

She's sculpted out of wood. I have a picture of the piece unpainted in my gallery if you'd like to see it.

Utterly amazing!

Your work always blows me away, too bad for me it's out of reach for the average person to own one.

To come up with something as amazing as this you must have a beautiful mind! :)
