Hypno 2 (Mi Sun)

Try #2 at this, I did a UV map with my spiral pattern on a texture and got better results faster. I also toned down the ambient effect to make her eyes a bit more natural instead of alien glowing orbs.

Why am I doing this? I have no idea. Maybe to see if I can pull off the effect in 3d and make it look good. Or maybe to find a way to pull this off without the cheesy eye swirls while still staying true to the comic language and symbolism people instantly recognize. It's funny, this? This most people instantly recognize. Though it does wipe out her beautiful eyes, which is a minus to me.

Wavy lines? Spider sense.
A swirl behind her? Takes up a lot of scene space.
A question mark? More seen as confusion or questioning than mind control.

More research needed on this effect and what others use, and probably I need to look at anime as well.
