The overall layout is nicely panned. The open sky and moon gives a open and free feeling in this peaceful atmosphere.
It's kind of hard to find originality in art these days and this scene and setting, at first glance, must have been done a few times. However I feel the water is a very original idea. Keep it up. Furthermore, I love how cold colors were used for most of the piece with an exception to the lighting around the girl which purposely catches the viewer's eyes. The contrast on the girls hair, for example, show you have a good control over your colors and the feeling you want it to give.

All in all, i think this is a very well done piece ^^

I agree with YOI-kun except on the note of originality... because there really is no such thing as that. Thats why it is impossible, for some, to find.
One could say: Nothing is new under the sun.

On the other hand, your originality is yours, -no matter whose inspirations you draw from... just as I draw my inspirations from you...

Nice work Reluin.

I really liked this picture-- the violet/rosy/dark blue palette you chose gave it a nice atmosphere, especially considering the fact that you gave it a nice transition (from reddish blue at the foreground to the darker, cooler blues in the back). However, I thought that having two light sources; one from the lamp and one from the moon; was a little confusing. I noticed the little lamp first, and only after a little bit of wandering around the picture I saw the moon. But you drew both of them well, especially the little lit parts of the clouds surrounding the moon, so bravo. Another little detail-- some of the things in your picture, like the two cafe tables (I'm assuming that they're cafe tables) behind the stairs and the three windows closer to the foreground are a little bit flat, in terms of their angle and the perspective. I liked your style and hidden detail, though. Overall, good job <img src="e.deviantart.net/emoticons/b/b…" width="15" height="15" alt=":D" title=":D (Big Grin)"/>

Thanks very much for the help! Little things like the tables/windows I always forget on my own, I'll make sure to fix those. The confusing light source thing I'll keep in mind for future pictures, since I can't fix that easily here. Thanks again!

I think that for the water, in the nighttime scene, you should have used a darker color instead of a lighter color (versus what it untouched by water) for the slightly-distorted path and everything under its surface. All the meanwhile still keeping some light on the surface of the water cast by the moon.

You do not "have" to make your image sharper in detail, it works as a personal style if that is how you like it.

Because of your minimal light sources present, maybe work more with including further shadows and a stronger contrast of dark versus light.

Thanks very much for the suggestions! I will definitely work on the shadows/light, and keep this in mind (:

First off, I'd like to mention the stunning use of colour in this piece. I love how the shades range from purple to bluish, with a hint of orange and green.

The image draws you in with its unusual mix normality and fantasy. At first you see a town, a beautiful town, but then at second glance you see the water, the smoke, and all these eye-catching features.

One of my personal favourite parts about this piece is how the details don't taper off as we move farther and farther into the distance, instead we see the lights shining through windows of houses, a lighthouse, and buildings across the horizon.

This piece really has this mysterious feel to it. You know there's a story behind this, but can't be quite sure what it is! I would have liked to perhaps see a bit more detail on the girl's / women's face, but I think it adds to the mysterious feel.

Amazing!

Mi piace un sacco l'illuminazione di tutto il disegno. Mi dà la stessa sensazione che ho avuto in delle isolette in Sicilia, dove l'illuminazione era molto simile! Comunque davvero complimenti! =)

Where does this scene take place; and what time frame is it set in? It's absolutely gorgeous!

It's inspired by Eze, France! Although it's not strictly realistic, of course ^^ Thanks!
