Today Warm ups, The steps for this warm ups is to find first the overall gesture of the figure, might take 2 to 3 seconds to find, considering the proportions of limbs and torso, the important tips here is to be able to see through the figure and find the placement of the rib cage and the relationship with the hips, you get this and everything will fall into place.

This is really true. At the beginning of learning figure drawing, I always did it slow, bump by bump, exactly how it was. The problem with that was that, I was doing it part by part(While this isn't wrong when learning anatomy) and at the end it was either inaccurate or it just looked dull without any action going on. It is until I tried to do 2min sketches starting with the torso without worrying about specific detail and accuracy, that my figure drawing, and anatomy improved a lot.

Also, usually when I start drawing without these warm-ups after I take a 2 day break, my figures always look dull(As in just doing classic poses, i.e. front side, backside...etc). These types warm-ups really helped me loosen up.

I really needed something like this.  Bending proportions messes me up sometimes.

That's very helpful, thanks. I tend to make my figures a bit too flat when I do this, I need to remember the depth of the torso especially.
