Ilke in human clothes by Reinohikari Ilke in human clothes by Reinohikari
Drawn on my Wii U's Art Academy Scetch Pad App, original miiverse page here: miiverse.nintendo.net/posts/AY…
This is what I imagine Ilke to be wearing if she was in this world. I find the clothes she wears in the books too hard to draw, too many details, so I like to draw her in this instead. Her hat is a reference to Tomoki Himi from Digimon Frontier whom gets the frost powers there. The clothes are perfect for fall/early winter and fits her due to not being too warm, as she likes it cold. The fang is a reference to the upcoming 8th book having a reference to Dracula, + she'd fit one if there'll ever be an anime! The hat hides the bangs which I find ridicoulously hard to draw...

Tsk tsk. Using the hat to hide the bangs. How do you think those poor bangs feel? (;

Cute picture. ^_^ I haven't seen this character before, what series is she from?

Here's the bangs:

They seem so easy when others draw them :'|

She's Ilke from Phenomena, a norwegian high/epic fantasy.  Official english information on Phenomena is here: web2.gyldendal.no/cims2html/de… . Sadly the series hasn't been translated into english yet, but maybe if enough people tells others about it a publisher will notice and maybe pick it up! The series is really good so I think people all over the world can enjoy it!

Ahhh, okay (:

It's funny how that works...some things look easy and then you try them and it's "what the heck am I doing wrong"? xD

Definitely looks like an interesting series. All kinds of different races and creatures always appeals to me ^_^

Hehe xD, indeed! Drawing is almost like a puzzle game, some find some things easy to do, but other things are harder, and then we see other do them and they do it as it's nothing, and then they start the one, one thought was easy and they strugle xD

Same ^^, it creates an unique warmth! Like one of their friends: www.gyldendal.no/var/ezwebin_s… (he and another important supporting character gets their own spin-offs, which makes the series even more awesome) isn't the prettiest of characters out there but still a girl falls in love with him and they have deep respect for him.

Hn... what if...

Totally ^_^

The supporting characters getting their own spin offs is pretty awesome. That sounds like that'd be a lot of work though...but the more story lines there are, the better (: Especially for the fans, lol.

That character looks like a merman. Quite an aquatic fellow (:

Indeed, so very true! And the spin-offs show their pasts or how they decided to change! The books are also illustrated so they feel more whole sice they're much shorter.

He is ^^.

There's a short sample translation: web2.gyldendal.no/cims2html/de… sadly that's the only way to read the series in english for now. Unless someone fan-translates it though...

Now that's really neat! It's always cool seeing why characters are the way they are. Character histories is one of the cooler parts of storytelling ^_^

Oooh, a sample translation. I'll totally check that out (:

Mhm . Couldn't agree more, since it adds more depth and makes one understand them. But sadly sometimes, might it increase questions...

Yay ^^, look forward to it :3
