“Go Baelfael, use Flamethrower!”  A voice could be heard crying out as his Charizard cried and spat out a gout of flames.

“Dodge it and use Sandstorm, Flygon!”  Another voice was heard crying out, their Flygon dodging to the side before whipping up a storm of sand around them.

The Charizard was buffeted by the sand before having to land on the ground.

“No...Not Baelfael.”  The first trainer responded.  He was a black haired trainer wearing a red and blue vest.  He had two brown eyes and was fair in skin tone.

“Heh...He was just as weak as you were.  Everyone knows that ground types are superior to fire types.”  The other trainer spat in the direction of the Charizard’s trainer.  “Finish this up, Flygon!  Use Dragon Rush!”  The Flygon nodded and was soon surrounded by a menacing blue aura of a dragon and flew directly at the young trainers Charizard.  The Charizard flew backwards and landed at the kids feet, knocked out.  “Well, I guess your ace was more bark than bite.  Come on, Flygon, let’s take his supplies and get out of here.”

The flygon nodded as the boy sent his Charizard back into the pokeball.  “No, I need those to make it to the next area.”

“Where you’re going, yu won’t need such trivial things to survive. Flygon, you know where to take him”  The haughty trainer just laughed and smiled as the Flygon grabbed the kid and flew him off the ground.  The boy scratched and struggled against the green pokemon’s attempts to carry him but they were in vain.  He was carried far off into the distance with only his pokeballs around his belt.

“No! No! No! I don’t want to be here!” The answer, he was dropped down in the middle of a huge desert.  The Flygon smiled at a job well done and flew off in the distance towards its waiting trainer.

But the boy was already feeling the heat sap his strength. “No... please...”  But as his vision faded, he could see a quadrupedal rock like pokemon approach.

“Horn...”

“Don, rhydon.”

“Great...in the desert and already surrounded by a pack of Rhyhorns and Rhydon’s.  Just when I thought this day couldn’t get any worse.”  The boy looked down at his pokeballs.  “And with all of my pokemon tired from that battle, I can’t defend myself.” But he was surprised, as the Rhydon picked him up and held him in its arms. The group began to walk again, as Reggie’s vision blurred into darkness.

Reggie believed this was the end, until a cold, wet sensation flowed down his throat. Water. Clean, cold water.

“Wha...Am I...Safe?”  The boy rubbed his eyes and looked up to see a cave, a cool, yet damp cave and lit with magic light. But he noticed he wasn’t alone, there were at least a half a dozen pokemon trainers all sitting next to him. Each one being fed, bandaged, and nursed by a single Pokemon.

“Hello.” Reggie was then approached by a Pokemon, a Krookodile. “I’m Karen and I’ll be tending to you. And before you have a panic attack, no, you’re not hearing things. I am indeed talking.”

“A...A...A real life talking pokemon?”  Reggie could only stammer at what he was hearing before the Krookodile fed him another bottle.

“Look, I’ll give you the overview. You were left for dead by a trainer named Raoul Delgado, right?”

Reggie nodded his head.  “Yeah, He took out my entire team with a Flygon and then dumped me in the desert without my supplies and my injured pokemon.  WAIT...WHERE ARE MY TEAMMATES?”  Reggie’s voice soon turned to panic as he noticed the pokeballs were missing off of his waist.

“Quiet.” Karen covered his mouth. “We have kids even younger than you who are sleeping. You will calm down or we will make you calm down and you will not like it. Understood.” The terrified boy could only nod his head in agreement, before being picked up and carried out of the room. “You’re in our haven, a small set of caves hidden along the back rock wall of the desert. We’re a group of Pokemon who lost our trainers to the same fate you nearly suffered, so, with help from the local wild Pokemon, we rescue trainers like you and bring you here to rest and recover. Same with your Pokemon.” Karen brought him to another sub cave, where Pokemon were being tended to, like the humans were.

Reggie looked over and saw his six loyal partners being treated by a group of Audino. Karen then brought him to his Charizard.

“Reggie...” The Charizard said, to Reggie’s shock.

“Baelfael...You’re alright...but...how are...you...talking?”  Reggie looked confused to hear his Charizard talking instead of roaring.

“The Audino gave me and the others human voices. Some kind of blessing.” Baelfael looked to the other five. “We’re gonna be okay... but what about you?”  The Charizard looked concerned for Reggie’s well being.

“I...I...I’ll be fine once we can get out of here and go home.”

“But what about the Indigo League?”


“No, I can’t keep going like that. Besides, I had all of my hard work stolen by that trainer.” He then just hugged Baelfael. “I just wanna get us home, and live in peace.” As he hugged Baelfael, the charizard noticed him shrinking.

“You’re...You’re shrinking master.”  The Charizard was worried, but Reggie didn’t seem to notice or care.

“Please... hug me back, big bro.” He asked.

“Al...Alright, bro.”  The Charizard hugged his master and felt a surge of warmth flow across the two of them, with the magic causing Baelfael to shrink and regress back in age to a Charmeleon.

“It’s part of the magic. If a rescued decides to quit, they become a kid to rest, and forget about being a trainer, their Pokemon becoming turned into kids too. But you seem to cling to wanting to care for your trainer turned brother.” Karen said.

“My little bro needs a guardian to protect him from the dangers of travel, miss.”  The Charmeleon responded.

“Well, travel’s now gonna be a problem. But I understand. Now, we still need to help your little brother rest and recover, can you take him to the cub cave, two caves to your left, while I collect the other siblings?”

“Sure thing, Miss Karen.  Anything to help you out.”  He smiled and picked up his now little brother, taking him out and down two caves to the left to be placed into a bed. The cub cave housed a number of a kids the same age as Reggie was now. Presumably these are trainers who also quit.  “Wow, so many trainers here were also forced into retirement by that meanie.”  Baelfael was stunned to see so many trainers and pokemon regressed back into cubs and sleeping together in bunk beds.

“Which bunk is mine?” Reggie asked.

“That one over there.”  Baelfael responded as he pointed at a bunk with Charmander and Sandile sheets and Reggie’s name on the top bunk.

“Oh cool!”  The Charmeleon walked over to the bunk and helped Reggie into the top one.  “We get a bunk all to ourselves, bro!”

“Thank...thank you for helping me Big bro.”  Reggie let out a yawn and fell asleep, with his clothes changing to be a pair of Sandile pajamas with booties to cover his feet.

“Get some sleep, kid.”  Reggie could only nod as his eyes drooped close and he fell fast asleep in his bed.

“How are his pokemon coming?”  One asked.

“Fine, but his Umbreon seems to be holding onto his desire to protect Reggie a bit much as well.  Has much of a desire to be a big bro to him as well.” The second responded.

“Let him be and let him keep his memories then.  We can’t let too many stay fully evolved but it takes a lot of care and friendship to evolve an Eevee into an Umbreon.”  The first remarked.  “So his Umbreon can stay as something akin to a big sis to Reggie.  I’m sure Luna will like that.”

“The Incineroar, Champ?”

“Already a Litten.  He’s still very haughty but also mellow”

“Bulzeeb?”

“A cute Deino.  Lots of anger but a well behaved pokemon nonetheless.”

“The grumpy Gogoat who helped carry all of his stuff?”

“You mean Leaf?  He’s already been regressed back to a Skiddo and enjoying his life as a kid again already.”

“And finally the Mudkip?”

“Behemos is so full of energy that we had to put him to sleep with hypnosis to keep him from waking up the other kids.”

“That’s good to hear.  Tomorrow will see the trainer and his pokemon transferred over to the vacation resort and the adoption moving forward from there.  Is Karen ready to adopt Reggie and his entire team?”

“Once the kid is ready to accept his new life, Karen will make sure his new family is there to keep Reggie safe forever.”

Over in another corner of the cave was a kid being taken care of by an Ampharos.  He was being nuzzled by the Ampharos and fed out of a baby bottle a food potion.

“So, are you ready for a special surprise?”  The Ampharos asked the boy.

“What is it?”  Jay asked?

“How would you feel if you were turned into an eevee cub?”

“An...Eevee...cub?”  Jay looked up at the Ampharos in front of him.  “Is...is...is that even possible?”

“Very much if you are ready. “  The Ampharos rubbed his blonde hair and smiled.

“If you think I am ready, then I’m okay with that papa.”  Jay smiled as the last of the potion was drank.

“Okay.”  The Ampharos booped him on the nose and in a poof of smoke Jay was turned into a shiny Eevee cub.

Jay looked over his new body and wagged his tail in delight.  “Oh wow, I’m so cute now!”

“Yes you are, but now it’s time for sleep, little Eevee.  Good night and don’t let the dark scare you.”  The Ampharos picked him up and started singing him to sleep.

“Night Sparkz.”  Jay let out a yawn and fell asleep.

Tommy was in a separate cave running around his guardian, so cute in his blue camo mitted hooded, footies.

“Tommy, I need you to calm down or you won’t get your surprise.”  Kanga was tired from running around trying to catch Tommy in his pajamas.

“But I want…”

But suddenly, Tommy’s pajamas were all padded up and he was stopped. Helpless, the pajamas moved on their own, forcing Tommy to sit down, then padded up even more, he could barely move now.

“Ah, mama.  I was having fun.”

“Tommy. You know better than to disobey your mom. Don’t you?”

“Yes, mama.”  Tommy was sad but knew Kanga was right.

“In the pouch little one.” She grabbed him by the hood, lifting the helpless boy up right off the ground.

Tommy was placed into the pouch of Kanga and the pajamas went back to normal, though still a little padded to keep him from climbing out.

“Now, I have a surprise for you, Tommy. Here you go.”  She gave him a Rockruff plushie to cuddle. But the moment he hugged it, POOF!  Tommy was turned into a Shiny Rockruff puppy, the plushie now gone. “Kitsu, come comfort your little brother, he’s scared.”

A braixen walked into the room and walked over to Kanga. “Yes mom.” he said, climbing into the pouch and hugged the pajama’d puppy. “It’s okay, buddy, Kitsu’s right here.”

“Kitsu?”  Tommy was at ease in the Braixen’s arms and calmed down, his tail wagging as well.

“The rest of the team got turned into cubs, but I knew you needed me, so I managed to stay evolved. Now just relax. You’re safe, get some sleep. You’re overdue for a good night sleep.”

“Okay, Kitsu.”  Tommy let out a yawn and fell asleep in the pouch, with Kitsu falling asleep after him.

“So is that all of the kids who get the treatment before we open up the resort?”

“Yeah, that’s all of them.”

“And those who have yet to be transformed?”

“They will be changed under their guardians watchful eye at the resort tomorrow.”

“Alright then.  Come tomorrow, we will have more kids saved from a terrible fate and adopted into a much better life forever.”

During the night, the pokemon inside of the caves started work on closing off the cave’s entrance to the desert.  The pokemon went ahead and opened a secret door to a vacation resort with various biomes for each of the different pokemon types.

“With that, we are ready to bring everyone into the resort for fun.”

Reggie let out a yawn as Baelfael started tugging on the sheets.

“Reggie!  It’s time to go to the resort and play!  We’re going to have so much fun today in all of the zones.”  The Charmeleon remarked as it tugged on the covers.

“Are you sure, dude?”  Reggie groggily woke up and climbed out of the top bunk.  In to the cave walked in Karen holding a set of Sandile themed clothes with a hat made to look like the mouth and shoes with fake claws on them.  There were fingerless gloves for Reggie to wear along with a fake tail on the pants.

“Is that for me, mama?”  Reggie sat up and looked over at the clothes for him.

“Yes, little one.  Could you please put them on so we can enjoy the resort?”  Karen asked politely.

Reggie nodded and took them from her, getting dressed up and now looking a Sandile Gijinka.  “Am I cute looking mama?”  Reggie asked.

“Very cute.  Now let’s go.”  Karen smiled and grabbed the boy, placing him onto her back and exiting the cave system.

Reggie looked around and saw all of the various areas for pokemon to live in along with games and rides.  He looked around Karen and was expecting to see someone.

“Miss Karen, where is the rest of my team?”  Reggie asked as he was carried over to the desert.

“Waiting for you in the desert resort palace.  Come, you and Baelfael are late to meet them again.”  Karen soon sped up and ran over to the palace.  Inside was a cake and his pokemon all returned to their starter forms except for his Umbreon.

Luna walked over and nuzzled Reggie.  “Big sis is here to help Baelfael and mama take care of you.”  As she smiled and nuzzled, the fake tail on the clothes came to life and started wagging, showing Reggie was happy at seeing his Umbreon again.

Next to walk over was his Mudkip.  “Reggie, you ready for some cake?”  He walked over and nuzzled up against his feet, with the shoes shrinking and turning into claws on top of his feet.

“Sure, I can take some cake dude.  I’m starving.  But why cake?  It’s not my birthday yet.”

Champ walked over and started nuzzling Reggie’s legs.  “But it is your birthday in a way.  We get to celebrate your new life and new family.”

“My...My...My new...Family?”  Reggie looked confused at what Champ was saying as his legs shrank and gently bent backwards for moving on all fours, with the shirt and pants turning into scales, with a pink underbelly and black and tan stripes on top.

“Yeah, you’re family dude!”  Leaf ran over and started licking his hands and arms, causing them to shrink and click into a quadrupedal stance with his hands losing two fingers and gaining three white claws to help him walk.

Bulzeeb stumbled over and covered Reggie’s eyes with the hat.  “Oops, sorry bro.  I can’t see very well having returned to my starter form.”  Reggie could feel his mouth and nose extend out into a snout.

Reggie was soon very panicked as he was blind from the hat covering his eyes.  “Mama, help!  I can’t see anything!”

Karen pulled him off of the back and slowly petted him, his eyes becoming rounder and moving to the top of his head, his hair disappearing as well.  “Shh...Shh...Shh...Mama’s right here to take care of you, Reggie.  Is that better?”

“Better and yet I feel strange as well.”  Reggie could now feel his new tail wagging around and showing off how happy he was.

“That’s because it’s now time to fully adopt you into the family.”  Karen smiled as she helped Reggie over to the table.  “Think of this as a brand new birthday and a chance to actually have fun away from all of the jerks.”

“Will I gwo older, mama.”  Reggie was now speaking with a lisp while Karen cut the cake and started doling out slices to everyone assembled.

“If you want to, but you’ll also never die in the resort.  It is a haven for kids to be kids forever.”  She smiled as she noticed an Ampharos and a shiny eevee cub walk over to the table.

“Hey Karen, I see you have your kid finally living the pokemon life.”  The Ampharos spoke.

“Yep.  I had his whole team help him transition into his new life.”  Karen smiled as the eevee cub jumped up onto the table.  “And is that Jay I see you brought with you?”

“Yes it is.  I had him transformed last night before he went to bed.”  Sparkz smiled.

The shiny eevee walked over to Reggie.  Hey, I’m Jay.  What’s your name?”

“Reggie, Jay.  So, you’re a Shiny Eevee.  You look so cool.”  Reggie was in awe at the shiny eevee sitting in front of him.

Over at Karen and Sparkz, a third Pokemon walked up with a shiny rockruff puppy and a Braixen in their pouch.

“Hey Kanga!  Is that Tommy?”  Karen asked as the Kangaskhan walked over.

“Yeah, but I still have him padded to keep him from causing too much mischief.”  Kanga remarked as she petted Tommy’s head

“Isn’t that being very mean to him?  We’re supposed to let our kids have fun during the day.”  Karen quipped back at Kanga.

“Yeah, but…”  Kanga was cut off by Karen and shushed as Tommy was pulled out of the pouch and set next to Reggie and Jay.

“You can’t keep him safe all the time.  He needs to get out and learn things on his own or he’ll be stuck needing you all the time.”

“Oh, alright.”  Kanga just sighed as Tommy flopped over on the table, still overly padded from all of the running last night.

“What did you do to wind up like that?”  Reggie asked the Shiny Rockruff.

“Too much energy and being disobedient of my momma before bed last night.  Don’t worry, everything will be fine once the magic wears off.”  The Rockruff chuckled as he was poofed into a less puffy set of clothes to walk around in.

“Ah, okay.”  Reggie just shrugged.

“Wait, where’s the last guest for Reggie’s party.  He’s supposed to be here.”  Karen remarked.

“I think he’s wandering the park looking for a balloon.”  Sparkz chimed in.

“Should we have the kids go out and find him?”  Kanga remarked.

“I think that would be a wonderful idea.”  Karen chuckled.  “What better way to get used to the resort and their new bodies than going out to find Leon.”

Out in the park was a boy wandering around in a Riolu Kigu.  He was staring bright eyed at all of the balloons and vendors in the fighting resort.

“MARCO!”  A loud voice rang out from a resort to the side.

“What the…”  Leon was surprised and landed on his bum as a Sandile came running by him.

“POLO!”  A second voice rang up from behind Leon.  He turned around to see a Shiny Eevee cub run up behind him.

“Whoa!”  Leon stared at the shiny eevee running around.

“I FOUND HIM!”  A third voice rang as he jumped onto Leon and started licking him.  “I found Leon!”

Leon couldn’t help but laugh with the Shiny Rockruff who knocked him over.  “You found me, but who are you?”

“I think mama said we’re gonna be best fweinds?”  The Sandile said as he walked over.

“Yeah, best friends!”  The eevee said.

“But who are you still?”  Leon still looked at them confused.

“Oh yeah, I’m Reggie and these are my new friends Jay…” The Sandile spoke and pointed over to the shiny eevee.  “And this is Tommy.”  He pointed over to the Shiny Rockruff.

“I’m Leon.  My guardian is on his way to the party and he told me to get some balloons.”  The boy in the Riolu Kigu smiled.

“Like from that vendor over there?”  Reggie pointed over at a shiny Typhlosion handing out balloons to all of the pokemon and kids.

“Yeah, that will do very well!  Let’s go to him then!”  Leon smiled and ran over as the four of them went to him.

The Typhlosion smiled and handed a Riolu shaped balloon to Leon first.  “Here you go, dude.  One nice balloon for the boy in the Riolu Kigu.”

Leon smiled back and took the balloon from him.  However, once he took it, Leon was surrounded in a cloud of smoke and was turned into a normal Riolu in a Lucario Kigu.
“Whoa... what the?”

“Hold on there, Leon.  This Zeraora is here to help”  An electric cat walked over to him and picked up the Riolu cub.  “Sorry for the sudden transformation, but Aura and I thought it was time for you to be pokefied to live here.”

“Time...to live here?”  Leon was confused as the Zeraora rubbed his belly.

Yeah, time to live here.  After all, the kids who live here are turned into pokemon to live comfortably in an area of fun and peace forever.”  The Zeraora said.  “We want to give you a new start away from the stress of your old life.”

“But what about Aura, my Lucario?”  Leon asked.

“They’ll get to be your big bro or sis as you live here along with your other pokemon as well.”  The Zeraora said.  “I’ve been assigned to be your guardian and help take care of you in the paradise resort.”

“Paradise?”  Leon looked confused.

“Yeah, paradise.”  They smiled.  “You may call me Zero and I’ll take good care of you, Leon.”

“Alright, Mr. Zero!”  Leon smiled as he has petted.

“There, now everyone is a pokemon.  Go tell Aura I said hi and enjoy the party.”  The Typhlosion smiled and petted the Riolu, obviously happy to see kids enjoying his balloons as well.  “Also, tell them Shy gave you the balloons for the party as well.”  He smiled and tied balloons around the four of them.

“I will, mister Shy!”  Leon smiled and gave him a hug.  “But what’s this about a party?”

Follow me to the park and we’ll show everything, dude!”  Reggie smiled and invited Leon to follow him, with Zero carrying Leon and the balloons.

The four kids chatted and talked on their way back to the desert resort palace.  The tables were all set up with cake on every plate with Kanga, Karen, Sparkz and Aura all getting the kids pokemon set up in a circle.

“Hey, we’re back and we brought Leon with us.”  Reggie smiled and ran over to Karen.

“We found a Shiny Typhlosion who gave us balloons!”  Jay yelled, running over to a piece of cake and politely sitting in front of it.  “He was very nice.”

“And Leon is now a part of our family with Zero and Aura.”  Tommy remarked, getting set by a slice of cake.

“Shy told me he says hi to you, Aura.”  Leon smiled as he was placed on the ground next to a slice with a candle in it.

“That’s good to hear from you, little brother.”  Aura smiled and gave Leon a pat on the head.

“Who’s ready for cake and ice cream?”  Karen asked as she helped Reggie to to the final piece with a candle in it.

“WE ARE!”  The four kids all said in unison.

“Did someone say cake?”  A rotom holding a camera floated over.  “I’m ready for the picture, Miss Karen.”

“Go ahead and take it, Flash.  We’re all here and ready.”  Karen smiled.  “Everyone, make a wish and blow out your candles.”

The four kids all focused on their wishes and blew, with Flash taking a picture of them at the same time.  With that, the four lives all changed four the better as they took their first new steps living in the paradise.
