Jesus Stamp by regidar Jesus Stamp by regidar
Now, I know some Christians aren't like that. Some are good. But honestly, many wield their religion like it's the only way to live. Jesus promoted love and tolerance to EVERYBODY. He wouldn't care what skin tone you were, what gender you were, or if you were straight or gay. That's the reason people idolized him and based a religion after him.

I don't agree with un-Biblical things (you know what I'm referring to.) but condemning people over it is the Lord's job, not mine! I do try to turn people to Christ, (as I'm called to,) but I don't judge them! (and if I do, it is essentially the same as doing said un-Biblical things.)

you wanna know what's more scarier than horror films? the many ''Hell fire and Brimstone'' preachers who condemn those who do not believe the same way they do out there.
Christianity today is a cult of pharisees and backstabbing hypocrites. which is why I left the christian religion behind, not daring to even look back...I bet Jesus is shuddering right now from their acts done ''in his name'' ... Facepalm

(not talking to ALL Christians in general but...you know the type I'm referring to)

...I used to be Christian. I used to go to Church, mainly because of the impact my Christian school had on me.

I left. Left the Church, that is, not the school. The school is good because it still loves all students whether they are Buddhist, Agnostic(like me) or Atheists. I love that.

Sadly, the Church seemed to only like Christians, Christians and Christians alone.

The Church I used to go to was right in front of my house. I used to look at it and think "maybe I'll go back"... but I moved away and I don't want to go to another Church these days.

Haha... you're more right than you know!

He DIDNT CARE WHO OR WHAT YOU WERE!!! He claimed we ARE ALL SINNERS heading for hell. Including you and I :)

He died for everyone so that they may "Go, and sin no more."

And you're right. Christianity is not the only way to live. You can be gay, a rapist, a liar, a child molester, a slanderer, a cheater, and adulterer, a fornicator.... we're all going down! Only difference is if you are saved and Christ says "don't rape," or "don't lie," or "don't slander," most everyone would agree (publicly anyway) that it sounds good. The newer breed of queers don't want to change, so they continue to sin. Simple really.

Read the bible. You'd be the one "facepalming" when you realized Jesus was the most closed minded person who every existed. I'll take his side over yours :)

So... the bible mentions hell like five times, even counting oblique references to 'the fire' and the like. And none of that was written by Jesus, merely by men who can be sourced to have lived at least fifty years after the death of the historical Jesus. Filtered down through a hierarchy of scribes and edited by popular vote. It's a wonder anything remains of the original bronze age texts, really. Which denomination of the ever fragmentary Christian church are you? Funny how those breaks keep happening, isn't it? Even assuming that a bronze age text can be at all relevant to modern society (hint: no), there's a definite logical disconnect here. You claim that everyone will go to hell unless we're saved, but at the same time you're targeting the gays in particular here, and conflating homosexuality with acts directly harmful to a society with no evidence. Even equating homosexuality to acts that can be shown to be immediately harmful to other lives, when homosexuality has no observed harmful effects beyond the social stigma that you are perpetuating. Really, you seem to be choosing pieces of the bible to justify pre-existing homophobia and your own closed-mindedness.

Also, is accepting Christ like a get out of jail free card in the event of one being a gay, murdering, child molesting rapist perchance (seems so)? Can a finite sin ever truly justify an infinite punishment? Oh, and why are you flouting the 'golden rule' by coming here spouting fire and brimstone rhetoric? Thought there was a gentleman's agreement among Christians against the whole 'blatant bigotry' thing :/

I implore you to glance at any good apologetic website for well established refutations to the points you made about the accuracy of the texts. Im not going to take the easy way out and say something like "i dont have time to respond to you" or something like that. Suffice to say there are a  MULTITUDE of websites with content from good scholars who offer logical support for the veracity and historicity of the bible. If you care to TRULY HAVE AN OPENED  MIND, I would suggest you take a look. Try to take a look at things from the other side, if you dare. You will also get a much better account of the situation than I am able to offer through a few lines here.

I will also say that as far as denominations go, it is a rather weak argument you bring up. In fact, I would say that you probably have no background in church history or even in proper anti-Christian argument. Even a novice wouldn't bring up such a thing. The very first church council in the book of Acts addressed this very issue - almost 2000 years ago! I'm stunned you raise the issue. They simply said that as long as the core tenets of the faith are held, the rest of the issues are nonessential. So yes, there are a multitude of denominations and any that profess Christ as the incarnate Son of God, God himself, that he died and rose on the third day, and that he is the ONLY path to salvation.... I'm sure we'll all have a good laugh in heaven about the truth regarding baptism, playing guitar in church, and speaking in tongues lol. So this is a non issue.

What you will find is that any church that is accepting of the queers will also not be able to make the above claims. I add this lest you say "well, isn't homosexuality just one of those issues that is nonessential?" I also would add that homosexuality is so dastardly because the queers accept and revel in their behavior. They flaunt it. It is clearly a sin (according to the bible. I understand you don't see anything wrong with it) and they  demonstrate no repentance. This is a nice segueway into your last question regarding the get out of jail free card.

YES!!! Christ is the most incredible get out of jail free card in the universe. There is no transgression or sin which can be committed (with one notable and technical exception) that cannot be covered by his sacrifice. Isn't that amazing? Your awe is justified. Hitler, Charles Manson, Marylin Manson... God's sacrifice was complete and so great that it covers them all. And you know what else? We ALL deserve the same eternal punishment. You, me, and Charles Manson have spots right next to each other in the Lake of Fire. You don't have the proper perspective of God's holiness. A perfectly, holy, unblemished, eternal, all powerful being. A perfectly good being. In his sight, the smallest lie, the smallest act of unkindness or unrighteousness is intolerable. Imagine the whitest, most beautiful wedding gown in the world. Now imagine a bucket of human excrement.... the bride could not stand to be anywhere near the bucket could she? Even if it was 50 feet away, you can somehow sense that such purity and beauty shouldn't be in the same building, correct? I am not being overly grotesque.... in the book of Ezekiel, God calls our RIGHTEOUSNESS as "filthy rags" before him. The King James is polite. The original Hebrew means "rags covered in excrement and menstruation." So if even our righteousness is as filthy as that to God, if he is that holy, how can we talk about any of us being better or worse than another??? I could go on with the analogy, but it would be crude and in bad taste.

Now imagine that God was condemning all of these creatures who not only wear these rags, but ENJOY wearing them and desire not to take them off. He commands these creatures and their rags to be cast out of the wedding... makes sense right? Who wants such filth at a wedding? (wedding imagery is one of the core symbolic systems in the bible). Imagine the groom himself, gathering all of this clothing himself by hand... GROSS... covering himself in the filth... just so that the wearers could enter the wedding. That's what Jesus did for us. The fags, just like any other unrepentant sinner, don't want to take the literal crap off! As for me and my family, we gladly allow Christ to do the unthinkable and take our filthiness.

Not a bad analogy, if I say so myself.... I can say so because its not mine. It's straight from the bible :)

That your imaginary friend allows you to not only criminalize things you don't understand, but also lets you shift accountability to another is one of the single most frightening things about the world.

Really??? I find the fact that God loves all of us so much, that we don't have to be eternally accountable for all of our wrongs WONDERFUL. It is the single most WONDERFUL thing about the world! lol. You have it completely backwards.

Now, can we go on sinning and simply place the accountability on God? Certainly not! Paul answered this in the book of Romans almost 2000 years ago. We are a new creation if we are in Christ. And Christ himself commanded the adulteress to "Go, and sin no more." Now, we can certainly make mistakes because we still have our sinful nature. However, the new creation within the Christian actively strives against the sinful nature continually... sometimes we lose, as I frequently do. But in our walk with Christ, we grow stronger and stronger (or that's how we should be. Again, some struggle more than others because of their own will).

Secondly, even CHRISTIANS are accountable for their lives. "All must stand before the judgement seat of God." However, we are judged differently than the unsaved. The unsaved get what they want, what you seem to want... full justice: eternal accountability for EVERY EVIL you have committed. Wow. THAT is frightening. As a Christian, Christ's sacrifice paid for my sins, my misdeeds. So when I stand before him I am judged for the good I have done in his name and am REWARDED accordingly. So it is possible for a Christian to enter heaven and have no eternal rewards. So even the Christians are accountable.

It seems you are criminalizing Christianity, which you clearly "don't understand."

I understand the queers just fine ;)

Also, you are most likely ignorant and aren't well read, for if you were, you would know "the king's english" is a phrase used almost exclusively for comic effect. I would think it's obvious that I didn't REALLY mean that I expected you or me to use the proper "king's english." If that's the best you got... you ain't got much.

you are implying being gay is on the same level as being a rapist, a slanderer, a cheater, a lier, and an adulterator, and you are implying that all of the of them are on the same standard as Christianity, which is to say, a religion.

Until you can formulate your opinions to feel educated, I will not engage in conversation with you any further.

"formulate your opinions to feel educated"
???

HA! I don't even know how to respond to this. Formulate=trying to sound smart. Feel educated=???. So I can feel educated? Or so that you can feel like I'm educated? I don't get it.

And yes... I am implying that being gay is all of those things.

Ill do you one further... I am a liar, an adulterer, a cheater, and a slanderer. WE ALL ARE GUILTY. As the Apostle Paul said: "I am chief amongst all sinners." This guy wrote most of the new testament and he is CHIEF of sinners.

We're all gonna burn. Unless we accept Christ as our sacrifice, unless we allow him to bear the burden of our own sin. I'm just as guilty as you and every other person on this planet. I am no better than any other person, no better than any child molester or rapist. No priest is better either. Billy Graham is going to hell right alongside Hitler.... the only difference is Jesus. That's all

Christianity is radical.

Did I "formulate" my opinion so as to "feel educated?" Lol.
