1989. The year where a brasilian band made a groundbreaking album that would become one of the most influential thrash releases ever. Beneath The Remains was also the first album Sepultura recorded for an international company, having the credits of Scott Burns as sound engineer and the result of that is a metal landmark.
Beggining with the title track "Beneath The Remains" which starts with an acoustic intro and follows with ferocious thrash riffing by Andreas supported by Max, crushing drums and suitable bass lines. Then comes "InnerSelf", a true classic in Sepultura's legacy. It has a controlling force provided by a strong riff, pounding drum work and respectable leads brought by Andreas Kisser. Next in line is "Stronger than Hate" caracterized by a splendid main riff, haunting chorus, enjoyable lead work and thundering drums with a surprisingly emotive end.
