Thank you thank you so much! Typically a landscape takes me 15-45 minutes depending on the amount of detail I go into. If I included a character, that's usually around 45 minutes to an hour although I have definitely taken longer for more indepth drawings. When I started though, some of the drawings would take me 2-4 hours sometimes
Oh woww— and I’m so glad you included the time you took in the beginning, too! I hope to become as comfortable with drawing backgrounds one day to be able to do them that quickly! Is it mostly just comfort with the process after doing it so often, brushes that make it go faster, or both??
Of course! Everyone is at a different place in their art journey, so it's easy to look at other artists and get discouraged. I have a long way to go still, but I've also come a long way as well. And I think it's good to always remember that and share that info as well! And it's definitely both. I found a process and brushes that make sense to me and can help me make a scene quickly. I've then also tweaked or made brushes of my own that are based on those brushes so that they work exactly the way I want them to for the uses I'm using them for. If you're curious, I post daily short form videos on my youtube and tiktok. They're all short timelapses at the moment, but you can at least somewhat see the way I approach a scene.
