At just a mere 40 light years away from Terra, lies a lush solar system similar to ours only potentially burgeoning with much more life than ours as there are seven, count 'em, SEVEN Earth sized planets in orbit around their modest star, Trappist 1. Some of those planets have very similar to Earth rocky densities. This is my wildly imaginative take on what it might be like on one of those planets.

Mantab Tenannn....
Let's hope we won't colonize for the time being... lousing up ONE SINGLE planet should suffice, dontchatink?;) (Wink)

....great picture, though;) (Wink)

While I agree that we are, thus far, not exemplary stewards of our world, I do believe that we need to become a multiworld species if we wish to survive....There's plenty of room and we are insignificant in the grand scheme of things and as such, our impact is negligible...
What can I say... not much against spatial exploration, make no mistake here, but your believe seems to be founded on the undoubted assumption that we as a species need to grow/expand interminably... on that I do harbor some doubt, if we can't learn to adapt to the necessities of ONE biosphere. Space exploration afterwards would just follow the curiosity and not of greed and flight instinct away from the very problems we as a species created for ourselves.

Indeed, mankind's impact on nature itself is negligible, but the repercussions on OURSELVES are dire enough already.

In the end, hope still glimmers within me as well that our own shortcomings are hindrances we might overcome eventually by 'evolving.'

I actually agree with all of that. No argument from me.
