It was always pride for Vegeta 
 But he finally confesses that Goku is better than him when they were fighting Kid Buu on the Supreme Kais planet

This remembers me the nightmare Vegeta had after Gravity Room explosion. I was surprised how paranoid he was toward Goku and trunks, at the point to dream them with the evil Frieza's expression and smile. I liked that aspect, when a person or a character, humanly sees himself better than the others, or right, he doesn't perceive himself as evil.

So, when he said, against the cyborg 'I'm pure evil', that doesn't sounds very realistic to me.
