PERSONALITY

    Manik is someone who was forced to grow up quickly because of everything that's happened with his family. He's level-headed, calm, and always finds himself in the middle of trouble trying to de-escalate things. He's an amazing listener, and tends to be very reasonable, and a good cat to come to for advice or to talk about life, feelings, or problems. However, he tends to be overprotective, and his large size can make him intimidating and difficult to approach. Despite his seemingly aloof, and 'strong silent type' demeanor, Manik is still a cub at the end of the day. He's easily brough along on wily adventures, but is often the first to realize they might've gotten a little carried away with shenanigans. He'd do anything for his family, and always puts them before even his own needs.

Needing to grow up quickly has it's downsides. He has high expectations for himself, and tries to shoulder the burdens of many. He's critical of himself, struggles with his self-worth. He wants to be this perfect strong cat that others can rely on, and feel safe around. He's easily influenced by his inner turmoil, and can get a little snappy and irritable in these times. He tries his best to catch himself, and is always quick to apologize if he does. He needs a bit more time and care from those in his life, and his family provide that for him, thankfully.

HISTORY

    Manik was the result of a business breeding between a cougar named Kadar and a caracal named Alexandrite. The cubs were mainly raised by Kadar, his mate, Serval, and a cat named Honey Locust. Alexandrite and her girlfriend, Ying Yue, often visited and Manik grew up close to all of his parents. Manik was always less of the leader of the group and more of the... bodyguard. He was always there to look out for his siblings and make sure they didn't get hurt or caught up in any trouble.

Soon after he was born, Manik's mother left to be with her parents- unable to deal with the trauma Ragnarok caused. Manik was absolutely devastated by the destruction, and watching his family either leave, or get killed. After receiving grievous injuries from Bellerophon, Kadar just didn't wake up one day. A mix of infection, and smoke inhalation doing him in. It was hard for Manik, as it was for his siblings. He naturally fell into a protector role with them, and finds himself clinging onto them more every day. Even if he doesn't know how to express it well, his actions speak louder than words. When he lost Kadar, he wasn't old enough, or strong enough to do anything about it, and it frustrates him. He's already bigger than most cats his age, so why was he still weak?

Because of all the loss Manik has experienced, and how turbulent his life has been despite it just starting... He hopes to one day start a family. One he can protect with his life once he's old enough, and keep safe from those only seeking to cause harm.
