Description
The big blue bug of hope is here!
So in the DC comics, the different colors of the rainbow comprise the different lantern corps. Each one has a corresponding "emotion" and blue is the color of hope. Just for kicks I once drew a picture of Spider-man with a blue lantern ring. (it's not on this site, though)
In heroclix, a miniatures game, there are lantern entities that you can use to "possess" other figures and make them lanterns of the corresponding type. I have done so with a Spider-man piece a few times to homage my picture. It helps as a gameplay mechanic, too.
I had some extra shiny blue paint when I painted an L-tank from the Mega Man series. I had a very old black costume Spider-man piece lying around. I figured: why not and make my silly drawing a reality? (quite different from the drawing in terms of detail but I like the simpler look on this) And thus this piece was made. As a bonus I had a blue lantern "net" object from a blind package that I was never going to really need, so I figured it would make it look like a "web" constuct for Spidey.
The blue lantern symbol was hand drawn and glued. That was a pain to get on there I tell ya. I really didn't have the tool to make that back symbol come out well, but eh, it won't get much notice anyway. It's hard to spot, but I did add a dab of paint to represent the ring on his finger.
