Lots of glowy bits. And a subdued background.
This started as a quick sketch I did for my son to color waiting for church to start. He colored it and added more parts (the circles around the central stacks and an ellipse around the whole thing). And since I hadn't done any real art for a while, I raytraced it. My son helped me in the final revisions of color and lighting, as well as the outer ellipse (I originally had a much thinner braid around it).
This is part of a series of abstract pieces that I started years ago and continue to expand.
