Some of you already know this deviation because I submitted it few days ago. Back then it was only a test with a Purchase option available only to the invited Beta-testers. The new Content Platform ( because it's an official name for it) is now available for everyone so I took it back from my storage folder.

For more info about a new Purchase system go to [link] .

I made this tutorial because some people asked for it. The image is only a preview and you can download the original tutorial by using a Purchase button on the right ( the payment can be done with deviantart points only).

Don't worry- I'm not going to make you pay for all my tutorials. Some of them will be for free since I promised you to make them earlier :). This one is still only an experiment and I hoe everything works fine. The good thing about it is that the authors of the resource content can earn some points for their work. I must say that making tutorials takes a lot of time and it's not an easy task.

Hi there ^^ I 've just purchased your tutorial on frills and folds on clothing , I found it extremely useful and rich, thanks for having created this super useful item! :la:
*I've been drawing ridiculously ornamented and frilled clothes for a certain group of characetrs since forever, and never felt truly at peace with my knwledge about how cloth folds, pleats and how it all looks like (the shading tips for it are incredibly useful too! )
Five stars of rating, I say! ^^ I'm gonna recommend you! :la:

Thank you so much . Your comment made me really happy! I'm glad my tips were useful for you. I know the pain of drawing clothes :). I've still  got a lot to learn. It's not easy but the best tip I can give everyone is to never give up. Use as much reference as you need.

For everyone saying it should be free how to draw books aren't free and it's basically a collection of tutorials. Why can't someone sell one for 80pts...not even 1$...it's their choice, especially when they have made so many others for free. Don't get mad about it....I just downloaded it....it's wayyyyyy worth more then 80pts. AWSOME TUTORIAL BTW!

Thank you so much for your kind words  They made me believe that this tutorial was not a waste of my time.

I don't know why people so mad... Paying for tutorial.. is it so strange? Person wasted his (her's?) time to make it helpful and easy to understand... C'mon.. I'd totally buy it if I had some spare points (I mean 80 points.. it doesn't even reach 1 $.. ) Anyways.. I am glad that someone started to sell their tutorials, cause i think it's even harder to make than to draw a commission (but we don't ask, why we pay for that, right?)

Anyways, lovely artwork, looking forward to see more.

Good luck!

Unfortunately, I think that tutorials should be free... I don't think I could ever bring myself to pay for one considering I cannot control the content and the tutorial may not help me as much as I would like it to.

I understand that they take a long time to make and it takes a lot of effort, but they should still remain free... As I think tutorials should be something you do in your free time as a way to help others.

However, I did notice that you mentioned that it was for beta-testing to see if there were any bugs. Are you still using it for testing or what? O.o

I was asked by DA to participate in a new download for points system and to check it for any bugs. Therefore, I made this one only to see that people prefer everything for free. I suppose the system didn't work well because I see no updates on this subject. I wouldn't be honest If I said that I was very surprised with the outcome. People don't like to pay for something which was for free until now. However, for us artists that was a chance to earn some points from time to time. I don't think that other beta-testers were going to put all their resources into that new system, just few of them ( as I did with this one). I hoped people would understand but I'm afraid they didn't. On the other hand, DA didn't explain anything to the public before the new system was launched. It led to a big confusion and misunderstanding. I have a feeling that some of my watchers got angry with me because they wanted to download my tutorial as usual, yet they couldn't. One person even threatened me that she would un-watch me if I'm going to put my other resources into paid-for-download-category.

So to make myself clear- most of my tutorials were and always will be free for DA society, I tried to make one profitable but I wouldn't call it a success. I can't turn it into a free download because it would be unfair towards those who already pay for it (and I'm very grateful for that).

I hope you get my point. Sorry for a long reply. I just wanted to clear all this misunderstanding.

I see. People prefer things for free (especially thing they don't really have much control over) because often times, they don't have any money. I also understand wanting to be able to gain a few points from time to time. Being an amateur artist, I understand both sides of the situation. Wanting things that were previously free to remain free, so I can get help to better myself; and wanting to gain a few points for my time and effort.

Its true that DA didn't really explain the system before it was launched as I myself was rather caught off guard by this. Many people worried that artist would put everything in their 'pay to download' system and the site would become catered to those who have money.

I understand not being able to turn it into a free download due to people having already paid for it. It's fine, I don't mind long replies. Misunderstanding cleared :meow:

I'm sorry but I wouldn't ever pay for a tutorial. I'm sure its wonderful and really helpful, but I really think tutorials should be free.
Keep up your amazing art work! -hug-

It's sad to hear that people would like to get everything for free. Making a tutorial takes a lot of time and effort to describe everything and to make it easy and helpful. It took me two weeks to write this one.
Most of my tutorials are free because I like to share my experience with other people. But when deviantart gave me the opportunity to earn some points for my work I decided to try it. However, some people got angry at me because they wanted to get it for free : /.

MMmmm, I see your point. But In my opinion I think all tutorials should be free.
Got angry? Thats a bit over dramatic of them.
Have a nice day Ma'am.

Sorry, I'm not paying for a tutorial ever, I hope not all of your tutorials are going to have to be paid for, I'll just stop watching your group if that happens, even if though I like your work.
