At Home in the World Series - Water Lily

Working from photos and memorabilia I have taken through the years.  My goal is to eventually turn at least 40 of my best or most interesting photos into gouache paintings.  I am a neophyte with gouache - my goal is to pick items that represent fabric, stone, metal, natural textures, into gouache.  None are larger than 6" x 10".

From a photo I took at the Mayan temple of Copan, Honduras.  I was struck by the tranquility, the hands in mudras, and the similarity to Southeast Asian devotional sculpture.
