Completed April 17, 2017. Reuploaded since it got deleted by mistake. It is a stylized peacock with paisley-like designs in its tail feathers. It is based on an older drawing of mine. It is drawn with Prismacolor colored pencils on Strathmore drawing paper, 11″ x 14″. It took me about 35-40 hours to complete this drawing. This drawing was created to be more stylized than realistic. It is vibrant and rainbow colored, and has a lot of movement. It is a playful artwork that doesn't take itself too seriously. The bold golden outlines of the feathers was inspired by the cloisonné decorative works, which can be seen in Chinese pottery and enamel works. The abstract designs in the tail feathers were influenced by paisley and mehndi designs, while also preserving the original colors and patterns in the tail feathers themselves, such as the blue “eyespots”. The vibrant rainbow colors were inspired by my own psychedelic style of artwork. This drawing was inspired by Asian artwork, especially Indian designs and Indonesian batik-style.

So colourful it hurts my eyes! But really very beautiful...my congratulations! Looking at your gallery, I think if you made some line-art versions of some of your images, they would sell very well as adult colouring book images. Colouring therapy and mindfullness activities are very effective and very popular at the moment. You could sell them individually via download, or publish a book if there's a lot of demand. Anyway...just an idea! I wish you luck and keep up the fantastic work! x
