Back from another year's expo. Must say, that was really fun :) Personal thoughts;

Skyrim didn't impress me. It was just flashy graphics and that's it, mindless wandering. However it may be because I literally just jumped on and played, I don't know much about it other than something about killing dragons *derp*

Hit-Man actually looks pretty good. Not realistic graphics, but really good for it's style. Game play looked really fun - I don't know much about the previous two versions, but my friend says that it definitely keeps to the theme and gameplay, however improved.

Assassins Creed Revelations looked incredible. Again, I hadn't played much of the previous versions, but it looked very fleshed out and organic, really impressive graphics, based on a far more artistic viewpoint, not just "hurr durr shinneeeyyy" like most games :giggle: Also that the city is incredibly varied in many levels, as well as new weapons looking really fun (melee seems slow, but new weapons look incredible).

New Batman game - Not a batman fan myself, but I can't deny that looking really good too :3 The developers are all fans and really want to keep the story and legend as accurate as possible, so I imagine that'll be good for other fans.

So yeah. Good times. Also me and my friends danced in public (badly) and I was followed home by a scary drunk.

One of the major selling points of Elder Scrolls games is their massive, open worlds - rarely do you get worlds as big as those in RPGs today. That's part of the fun - wandering around this beautifully crafted world is really relaxing (and if you don't find it fun you're don't have to, that's why they put in fast travel!). And then you get attacked by a dragon because dragons are cool I guess? :D

You said the melee was slow in AC:R? What do you mean? imo the melee was fine in all the previous games so I'd be surprised if they've done some kind of rehaul of it. But since you haven't played the previous games I suppose you don't really know :P

I wish I'd been able to go to Eurogamer, it sounds amazing, but I've got school and I'm not allowed time off :( Maybe in a few years!

Well as far as I know the Elder Scrolls series big thing was its massive environment. So yeah, keeping with tradition Skyrim will retain its "Fucking huge ass" world.

Easy to get distracted in though, which is fun.

True, it was pretty massive (I didn't know that was a tradition, though" but for people like me who didn't have a clue what was going on it wasn't very helpful xD I think I'll enjoy it more if I actually understood what the game was about.

Stuff happens, dragons come, get distracted from side-quest and indulge in several days worth of optional and side content.

Profit.

Lol.

I think I spent most of my time on Oblivion just wandering around exploring dungeons and doing those side-quests. There were a lot of fun places to explore.
