Here are a few favorites from other DA artists:
Adjusting my DA participationI have moved most of my images for sale to www.SaatchiArt.com/RBCD While I enjoy DA very much and have participated, I have not had a return on investment. I will stay on for the other artists I have come to appreciate here, the ability to print magnets, etc. I would also like to keep engaged with this site in case they ever come up with a formula to reimburse artists. One idea that I find compelling is to charge for likes. For a while I have been paying artist with DA bucks each time I liked one of their images. I think this should be part of the process when a person clicks on likes an image then a screen pops up asking what the collector wishes to donate to the artist, or accesses a minimum charge. People who collect images can then contribute to the artist's effort. Collectors could even earn a new type of badge... I recommend that DA do something like this and make the DA Bucks conve
December Month of DollsHello, well this doll thing is running full tilt. I have work available at D&H in LA, UU Art Guild in San Diego, Downtown San Diego Bar Basic Pop-Up show hosted by Thumbprint Gallery, and a fun raiser of sorts for Art on 30th in San Diego. Contact me if you would like to go to any of these places and chat. Here is some of the recent work:

Stepping Forward!I have the studio, I have the time, you will get the art!
I noticed other people are already working...
Sooo, whats happening with ChauDavisAlright, ya know I have stopped selling paint and am onto the art kick full time. Part of this is fixing up the house/studio and making it livable in winter and summer so that Maria, I and Lora can all live and work year round. Almost there! In a little bit Maria and I will be taking our big vacation and seeing wonderful things up North. I had hoped to slip one more show in but ran into a glitch so had to back out (it was graceful with no damage done on either side). I have developed deep affection for Thumbprint and hope to work with them when I get back. I would like to have regular drawing/photo sessions at my house. Working with having an artist (who likes their privacy) become a sort of guest artist at the house. Should have more work in August and if you want to visit there is always Taco and Tequila Tuesdays... Here are some of my current Fave's by other artists on DA...
A few pictures from Jazz Jam at Panama 66This is happening every Wed night at Panama 66 in Balboa Park, San Diego. These artists are all painting the musicians jamming on stage (occasionally pulling other musicians out of the crowd). Here is the Facebook link to the event Carlos Castellanos Wed Night Jam Session at Panama 66. Brian Meyer is promoting the visual art side...
A few ones I like from other artist on DA...
UU Art Guild Poems and suchWell finally finished these up... Will be talking about them the second Tuesday of February at First Unitarian, UU Art Guild!
Dragon Ball Z Tribute Show (Cosplay Encouraged)Thumbprint Gallery is hosting a Dragonball Z art event at Bar Basic in San Diego 1/26/2016, I created 3 little acrylics taken from the opening sequence of season 1. Drop by, here are some of the details:
Here are few others I found on DA:
That was interesting...I was able to show it all in front of the T bar in Hillcrest, still processing the experience. Stayed to 10:30, True stayed longer, he is a champion. I think that bargain bins are called for. I could do an extension of the trash series and have the 99 cent bin. A more compelling interactive piece is needed. Protection from the evening damp would be good. Art cards need to be framed or available for swapping. Couple of cool interactions, one couple came by twice... One did a quick scan and told the other 'you are not interested in any of this.' The other starts looking immediately and I tell her 'you can any one piece free. She took a good one I had created for the postcard show. Very satisfying for both of us. Another person apologized extensively for bargaining me down to 20.00 dollars for a piece she loved, felt she was being insulting...didn't buy the piece. I tried to console her. Try again next Thursday, see what ha

I hate manga and anime.Recently, someone told me that she likes Anime and Manga because they are avenues for limitless imagination, and without rules.
I couldn't believe what I was hearing, because my own experience is utterly opposite: Anime and Manga are quite possibly the least creative, most rule-infested genre of art. I can speak with some authority on this subject because I've lived in Japan (the home of anime and manga) for seven years.
In fact, I OWN some rulebooks about manga and anime, despite avoiding that genre with the same dedication with which a diabetic avoids sugar. I've also watched interviews with manga artists as they discuss the rules of manga/anime, and hung out on a Manga-for-artists website before discovering DeviantArt.
Consider the following rule set, and ask yourself a) is it true? b) what sort of stifling rulebook and lifestyle forced these artists to stay well within the rules, only trying to break away from the pack by taking the rules of cuteness, sexiness, violence, and good-v
DeviantArt, deviantART and Lots of Things TooWe're going to be DeviantArt, officially. But you can always call us deviantART. You'll get to be retro, and that's always... well, retro! This goes for DA and dA, too.
It was nice to see Moonbeam13 and starvingartist today in Toronto. We got some lunch. Then 'Beam was nice enough to drive me to the airport with Rob. Rob! Happy Birthday Moonbeam!
I'm in the sky eating a banana at the moment. I wonder what monkeys would make of me eating a banana at 30,000 feet. Let alone journaling on DA from here.
I was in Toronto visiting Autodesk, and the teams behind Sketchbook and Pixlr and other awesome apps they have. What wonderful people. I really enjoyed seeing what they're up to, it's all very exciting.
I've been hanging out on #devart on dAmn today, and I asked Pickley to pull together all the best scripts and projects out there that improve dAmn. This way DA can consider buying the code, interfaces, etc. and

Update from DD-Catalogue FounderDear All,
Thank you for 'watching' DD-Catalogue, and for all your support over the last 4 years. You may have noticed that the group has recently lost super group status. I'd like to apologise for the disruption this has caused to our Gallery and homepage. I'd also like to apologise for the lack of updates and features recently. I have neglected the group somewhat during my university study.
...but I'm planning a revamp to make it better than ever!
I would appreciate it if you could give me some feedback in the comments on some of the following:
What do you like most about DD-Catalogue?
What would you like to see from DD-Catalogue? (features/interviews/polls ??)
Would you donate a small amount towards Super Group status?
Would you like to be on the admin team?
Thanks for reading,
Add this Journal to your 'favourites' if we have your support in bringing DD-Catalogue back to life!

July Commissions!Important to Commissioners
Hi everyone! To all my commissioners, please tell me if you wish to be contacted here, your email or some other way you feel it's more comfortable. I'm still awaiting an answer for many design approaches and that is delaying the work schedule. If there are sudden changes like leaving on vacations or need to postpone the project please feel free to tell me.
Remember that if I don't get an answer after 7 days I send the last design approach I consider the project abandoned.
My commissions are always open, I just ask you to be patient because I work on them as ideas come by. I try to finish them as fast as I can but I give priority to quality over speed.
Those interested please read this:
