A very interesting piece of work by talented and close friend :iconlarom: Showing his vision of a possible future of Razen.  Having become fully matured, more fierce and even merciless?  Having mastered his magic even beyond what he currently is ever able to.  Using even runic glyphs to power his sword more than he was able to in his younger days and able to maintain the power.  The glyphs can contain a powerful force when created correctly and once used in a right situation, they might be just what was needed to win a battle.

This image has gotten me to think quite a bit what future will bring to Razen, I do admit it has not been quite what I have thought at first but, it is one possibility!

Thank you :iconlarom: once more for bothering with all this, awesome and interesting vision that you delivered well into an artwork ^..^
Do go check out what he has done already!

Of course, when their battles are over, will they be able to win the peace?

Depends once again.  Razen himself, most likely will even if having become one of the warlords in the nation.  Some considering him possibly even as a threat.  But he will not do anything unless provoked.  But what comes to being warrior race, and being one with more sense in their head as well, there is always a way to vent off that urge for combat and struggle for yet another victory.  Defeat does not always necessarily mean one has to die after all.
His loyalty though remains the same still, for his homeland, wanting to keep good people safe in it.  Most specifically the family he has made at least.  He does this because he respects the emperor, who possibly, will also be his greatest adversary as well.

Oh, right, Razen's homeland is sort of a hybrid of Japanese and European feudal systems.  Still, if you can't keep your tenants and vassals content and put resources into everything from granaries and dams to roads and canals, it's hard to support your forces or raise fortifications or the like.  Raubwirtschaft (plunder economy) isn't sustainable.

Ah, so there's some court intrigue.  That's one possible way to end up losing the peace, if he's not adroit at navigating that world...

Yes indeed it is, perhaps reason in history due to same continental area but different regional differences possibly still that now have merged because of unified land.  Imperial family itself so far always has kept up with keeping up the peace and keeping the land together.  I'd say the world probably is rather different too a bit, perhaps for dragorians easier to maintain with landmasses and keeping the soil fertile and enough watered because of the existence of magic.  But no worries, even if it can ease life one can screw up royally too if not knowing totally what needs to be done, even with supernatural arts.
What does come to plundering, well sure I guess there are SOME bandits-highwaymen-robbers around. (Also for cannonfodder material)

But since I cannot apparently keep secrets, so why not, barely anyone reads what I bother writing anyway still.  Well the truth now then.  That Razen sooner or later gets his chance to meet his emperor personally even.  The leader of nation does reveal that he is of same old warrior's blood as Razen as well.  Since the both are shirais, old rules, or rather, tradition would dictate they must duel it out.  But due to obvious massive gap between the eachother's skills, emperor tells Razen to keep on training, he will be waiting for that day to come.

Thank you, Marc/Greenscale did great work on this, well he does good work really with anything he puts his artistic craft into, perhaps bit overly praising but that is my way now to show appreciation towards what he does and how skillfully too :)  Check out his galleries for more stuff, not all though is only in DeviantArt gallery!
