We took a family trip to Michigan's Upper Peninsula. I have a lot of wonderful childhood memories from that area, and it was wonderful to share it with the kids.
Now, I am sorting through several gigabytes of photos and video. We took a tour to a copper mine and the videos came out better than I thought they would.
I'll be posting things as I sort through them.
Up here in Cadillac, Michigan, the snowbirds have flown home. Yep, we're becoming inundated with senior citizens. You should have seen all the cars parked at Big Boy's this morning.
But hey, I wanna be a snowbird when I grow up. Central and Eastern Michigan is lovely all year round, but winter is about three months too long here. It'll be lovely to enjoy Thanksgiving and Christmas, then bug out for the winter and do some serious scuba diving.
It's amazing what you can do with relatively inexpensive equipment. I used to be a big fan of 35mm SLRs, but a pocket-sized camera with a decent 10:1 optical zoom beats anything I have ever used b
There was frost on the ground this morning. There was frost on the car, too. Scraping it off is such a good start to a fun morning.
On the plus side, the sunrise was beautiful. I probably should have snapped a few pictures, but you can only sort through so many sunrise and sunset pictures. If there was some suitable scenery to go with it (I was on the road,) and I could have gotten a good composition, I would have gone for it.
That's OK. There are 365 sunrises and 365 sunsets every year. Usually. Next year, there will be 366. :-)
