Look close, you might miss it otherwise... sorta blends in.
Anyway... just thought I'd upload something to show that I was still alive.

The colors are ridiculously vivid on my computer... but I've noticed that one of the problems with sharing your work online, is that everyone sees a different set of colors... whatever their screen can do.
My old laptop would show things slightly yellower... and my newer one seems to have better whites. God only know what everyone else has. Makes things a little tiresome if you're trying to show a photo with just the right shade of something... i.e. I may spend a while adjusting the white balance or levels to create --on my screen-- what I think is the most accurate representation of what I remember... but alas, on someone else's monitor, it's going to appear a little different. I seem to be rambling now...
Really sticking to color profiles doesn't seem to help either! :shakefist:
Anyway, this is uncropped and converted from RAW. With minimal editing... it was damn bright and vivid on the back of the camera and even when I first opened it on my screen... so really... there was nothing to do.
Shot with my new fancy-pants 60mm Nikon Macro lens :excited:... which has sadly not gotten the use it deserves.

Oh yeah! That's great. I like the way the thin middle line on his back lines up with the line of the petal and the darker striped blend in perfectly with the parts of the central area of the flower. I know exactly what you mean about the colours too. I often wonder what things look like on another person's screen not to mention what things are like through other people's eyes!

Indeed... how something appears through others' eyes adds a whole other dimension to the idea of preparing work for presentation.

Perhpas it's possible to create artwork specific to an individual persons eyes. Like someone with colourblindness perhaps and the artwork would look correct to that individual but not to other people.

that sounds interesting... I always thought those little tests to see if you were colourblind were pretty cool looking in themselves. (you know, the many coloured dots, and people who are colour blind see one pattern, and people who aren't see another.) it would be cool to create something like that with a less 'utilitarian' aspect to it.
