Ed laid awake in his bed, unable to sleep. Rayna had been on his mind for weeks now. He couldn't understand what he was feeling. Every time he thought of her his stomach felt weird and he could barely think straight. He furrowed his brows in frustration.
Why do I feel this way? What is this emotion? Why does it scare me so much? Ed thought.
"I know what you are feeling, Brother." Al said, as if he could read his thoughts.
Ed blushed and stammered, "I have no idea what you are-"
"There is no use in lying, brother. Everyone knows you are falling for her." Al said, interrupting him.
Ed sighed. "I don't know what to do, Al… I want to tell her… But I am afraid…. What if she doesn't feel the same way…?"
"Brother, you worry too much. Just tell her. If you don't you will regret it." Al said with wisdom beyond his years.
There was a long time of silence. Ed stirred from his thoughts and said, " HEy, Al?"

Mustang apologized to his daughter repeatedly, making her tremble violently. She cried her eyes out, clutching at her heart. Ed suddenly burst in, looking concerned and upset.
"Stop! You are going to kill her!!!" he exclaimed pulling mustang to his feet by the collar of his shirt. Mustang just hung his head low in shame, looking defeated for the first time. Ed drug Mustang out of the room then shut and locked the door. He closed the blinds on the window, where Hughes was watching the young woman. Ed walked over to her and put a comforting hand on her trembling shoulder.
"I am here to listen." he whispered softly, "You can trust me. I won't say a word to anyone."
She looks at him with grateful eyes. Ed gazed at her for a moment than said, "I am Edward, by the way."
"I am Rayna." the young woman replied.
"It is nice to meet you." Ed said with a kind smile.

"Sir?? Sir?? ROY!?" Hughes exclaimed, shaking Mustang awake.
Mustang clutched his head and looked at the young Ishbalan woman who was now lying on the small, plush sofa. His eyes filled with tears.
"Who is she, Sir...?" Hughes asked Mustang in a gentle tone.
"Get her to the infirmary. Now!" Mustang snapped, his expression guarded.
"Yes, Sir." Hughes said, sighing.
Mustang watched as the doctors did test after test upon the young woman. The doctors frowned as they examined the results. Something was clearly very wrong. The doctor walked out of the exam room and over to Mustang, his expression grim.
"What's wrong...?" Mustang asked, trying to hide the immense worry in his voice.
