Quick thing put together inspired by ~Hakar-Kerarmor's hakar-kerarmor.deviantart.com/… to make this silly joke.

I'm surprised how fast the Flutterbat craze has spread, she already got her own fangroup here on dA XD And I'm just as much a fan, so I had to try make something to tribute it.
So, now I'm sure we all know the differences between a bat pone and a vampire pone, kids. Very important, to not hurt anypony's feelings.

Everyone enjoy!

I remember when that episode aired, so many people continuously refereed Strawberry Glimmer as a Vampony... and some still do...

I'd just show them these:

Vampire Pony and Bat Pony Differences by Jusey1

An obvious series of differences. One is full bat, one is a dragon.

It truly does upset me when people get the two mixed up... Vampire ponies are not bat ponies and bat ponies are not vampires! God, it's like moths and butterflies! They maybe similar but still two different things!

Exactly! There are clear differences

Heh that's great.

Though, a lot of reviewers are referencing Twilight's spell as an explanation as to where Bat Ponies came from. :o

Lauren Faust confirmed herself that the Bat Ponies dragging Luna's cart is a species on their own living inside the mountains :P

Yea she did. But it didn't stop a lot of reviewers from making connections to Flutterbat to the Bat Ponies Luna had pulling her cart. :o

Which I find a bit silly since there is visible differences between Flutterbat and the batpones

I wish they'd left the "vampire" thing out altogether and just made them fructivorous bats, but I know they didn't want to use the cute little bats from "Apple Family Reunion" as "villains," so I sort of appreciate their predicament.  Now if only they'd left off the fangs the size of elephant tusks and the hissing.  So far as I know, bats **do not** hiss.  But at least they were portrayed as simple animals and not as supernatural entities.

Finally, while I truly love and appreciate the message of this piece, I would also just like to point out (and please don't be offended!) that, for all the bat ponies portrayed with slit eyes like cats and pit vipers have, actual bats don't have them.  At least I've never read of them having slitted eyes of seen a photograph of one with them.

But the main message is, thank you for making these points.  Flutterbat would have been so much more adorable without the fangs, hissing, red eyes, and "vampire" moniker.  See my icon of Foxglove for a positive cartoon bat.

I actually lurved Fluttershy going vampire bat like that, even though it was far from a correct portrayal of a bat behaviour. We never even saw the actual bats hissing or acting like that, they just spat seeds out at others. But it's a cartoon and they always have to overdo it a bit to ensure it entertains and the audience get the general idea.

The bat pony here is based on the design of the show (Luna Eclipsed) where we see these special ponies pull Luna's wagon instead of the usual white pegasi who pulls Celestia's. Faust confirmed the bat ponies to be their own species, mainly named after the bat because of their wings and nocturnal nature. Of course real life bats don't have slit eyes like that, but it's a popular design in the show for creatures like that to make them look extra spooky.
And don't worry, I'm not offended =D These things are easy to get up for discussion since a lot is not showed enough in the show and that we get to see ain't necessarily 100% correct to real life

This was just a quick joke to make sure people remember that the bat ponies are not to be misunderstood as vamponies, just because they are associated with bats.

Thanks for understanding.  I just don't like to see bats portrayed that way.  And yes, the actual bats **did** hiss a little, and their fangs were way too big.  But it's a kids' cartoon, and it wasn't as bad as it could have been.  At least we still have Bacardi around to provide a counterweight.

But yes, Flutterbat was adorable.  I think her appeal lies in the fact that 1)she's the number one lust target of many bronies and 2)vampires have been highly sexualized in popular culture for some time now.  This means there are now zillions of bronies who are fantasizing about being ravished against their will by a dangerous, predatory, and irresistible flying ball of cuteness.

Yeah, it's a kid show with abuse of all the imagery the artists behind it could think up. To make things easily understood by typical symbolic that every child would perceive in a certain way to ensure the right impression. And though I know that means plenty of details will be wrong, it can still look pretty cool and be entertaining ^^
But of course there'll be details we can't always agree on. Like a bad portrayal of bats.

Yeah, that sums it up pretty well I think XD
That and bats are very cool.
It is also fun that the most timid and harmless character of the show can have such dangerous alternative forms. Flutter-bitch who can ruin your life. Flutter-Hulk who can tear you and everything around you apart. And Flutter-Bat, the flying menace.

I took it as fluttershy being like a feral relative of those bat-ponies, like humans to chimps or probably a little closer than that...

There might be a resemblance but we should still keep the thought in mind that there are differences between batpones and vamponies.

Well then again she wasn't exactly a vampire as evident that she had a reflection. Perhaps she was merely a Bat/Pony Hybrid species, while bat ponies are not actually part bat but just bare bat-like features, like how common pegasi are not part bird, but bare bird-like wings.

True true, but we must remember her vampireisme came from actual animals that, despite their name, isn't real vampires either. Just named that seem more menaging and to fit their nature of using sharp fangs to suck juice out of apples.

Of course Fluttershy wasn't a real vampire, but definitely something different from the regular bat ponies.
