I thought about this today; we worked with this story as an allegory for intuition in one of the groups I cofacilitate.

That's awesome. I love all the stories connected with Vasilia / Vasilissa / Vasilisa.

I swear, you've got a picture for every one of my favorite childhood stories. XD They're all amazing! I love how you balance detail and realism with a sort of surrealism. It's perfect for this sort of piece.

Aw thank you. I like the detail / surrealism combo I've got going, it's working for me these days, anyway.

Lovely piece of work :) The colors are amazing and show off the difference in the light qualities fantastically. Not only is the color amazing, but the detailed line work, pointillism and the swirls in the background are stunning! It's nice that you can see the detail of the swirls but they're not overwhelming :)

Thank you very much. The light in this one was really challenging, but at the end, I think I pulled off something that I didn't know I could pull off with pencils, fineliners and metallic paint at the beginning.

But I'm going to take a break before I can try something like it again!

I applaud this piece. I can totally appreciate what a challenge it is to deal with lighting schemes, and especially with ink! It also has a very haunting feel to it--and the skull lamp is great!

Wow, thank you so much! :D I love the skull lamp too. It was the most difficult process I've undertaken to get that effect of 'light' and glowing, and I'm happy with how it turned out; though there were a few times during the picture that I was sure I'd screwed up!

I think every artist goes through that feeling sometimes throughout stuff that they're working on, of "Oh crap, messed it up, better just chuck it in the rubbish bin and start over." I certainly do (often!)

You won this battle. Very imaginative in your use of light. and the darker background and the light and shadows of her face.

I can't believe the colouring job you've done on this piece. I mean, pencils and this lightning? Craziness (in a good way, of course).

Beautiful work, really. This turned out wonderfully, and though it looks like it probably did put up a heck of a fight to get to that point, it was well worth it.

Light and shadow is one of the most difficult things to master in art...which is part of the reason why I'm transitioning to sculpting XD

Wow, thank you. And yeah, this picture and I definitely fought! Hehe. Sometimes I love the process, but this time I didn't.

Wow, I think you did a fantastic job with the lighting effects. It definitely catches your eye and brings a lot of atmosphere to the picture. =)

Wow, gorgeous! It looks like it took a lot of time and work with all the pointillism. :o
