This is still one of my favorites. I love the placement of this bird smack dab in the center of the drawing, but with the background and curls, it really doesn't feel like a sore thumb or I should say, feels real natural there. I love the blues and purples used, and especially the orange for contrast! Very beautiful piece!

I like this one too; I do like the ones that have quite a solid blue composition and always have. Glad you enjoy it too!

This one is stunning. The colours, the pose (I love the way the head has been done), everything. A lovely picture!

I've oft liked the various jays, for the interesting shades of blue they appear in. :)

We have some of the desert 'scrub' jays around the desert southwest of the USA, but they're not that common. I think the old fashioned "blue jay" is one of my favourites. :)

I became familiar with these guys during the past winter spent in southwest Alberta, they make the most incredible range of noises! I was constantly looking around to find the 'new' bird that was making a noise I hadn't heard, only to see a Steller's jay peering down at me. :P They're really bold too, and allowed me to get some great photos at the feeder I set up. :D

Love the outline-cum-tendril-cum feather detail surrounding the bird.
