Waterford by Raven207b Waterford by Raven207b
Finally got around to painting this, and in record time as well! Only six straight hours...:faint: Portrait of the Hanoverian stallion Waterford owned by Lynn McEnespy. I absolutely fell in love with his kind expression, although I am not sure I quite captured the copper of his coat.

Thank you! I actually have a large print of him framed on my mantle, and I'm finding I like it better and better...unusual for me since I usually start picking apart the mistakes early on.

You made him look as if the sun is shimmering off his coat. Beautiful job capturing that feel.

Thank you! I wish I could have captured a bit more of his coppery highlights, but I didn't want to ruin it by overworking it. I'm going to have a framed print of this one at the next horse show...that should get attention, ne? ;)

I still use photos because I tend to mess up little anatomical details! You'd think I'd have equine anatomy down completely being a rider, but alas no....
