Gargoyles Episode Sixty Five AU Questions: If the youngest of the Hunters, Jon Canmore, had quickly shot down the gargoyles and their gargoyle beast (after they emerge from below the floor of the Clock Tower) while he was hovering on his Sky-Sled outside of the Manhattan Clan's devastated home, how would the blonde man feel after he obliterated them?
Given how Jon was portrayed in the show, I believe he would have felt guilt, remorse for what he did. Hitting the button just a fraction of a second after Goliath said that no one gets left behind. That would likely have been the reason how he could have realised that, although Demona was a true monster and murderer, these gargoyles were not and he would need to live with that guilt, or atone for it. Give what he had also heard when Goliath, Brooklyn, Lexington and Demona were in the prison in the plane of the Hunters he probably felt some kind of empathy for the clan, but family duty calls first and foremost.
How would Eliza Maza react once she found out what happened to the gargoyles?
Shock, probably the 7 stages of grief. They were her friends and her family. The only difference in this is, she knows who murdered her friends and she will want justice for them.
If Eliza told her brother, Talon, and the other mutates about what happened to Goliath and his clan (as well as everything she knows about the Hunters), what would their reactions be?
Talon and Elisa's relationship went through many bumps due to the gargoyles, in particular Goliath.
Talon would feel grief, but it wouldn't be as strong as Elisa's, Maggie would be upset as well, regarding Brooklyn as a friend. The other's wouldn't really feel much, Claw didn't have much interaction with the clan, the clones might feel relieved because they would have been - or at least Delilah would have - aware that the clan was unnerved by their presence. Fang would have made a bad joke, which more that likely almost resulted in him getting shot by Elisa had Maggie not claimed her down and Talon warning Fang off.
If Eliza, Talon and Maggie decided to search for the masked vigilantes together and bring the gargoyles' murderers down once they find them, would the three heroes had succeeded in finding and defeating the gargoyle hunters once they do?
Yes, if they were to use the clones as a way to lure the Hunters into a trap - and the Hunters would most likely have gone after Delilah, since she has part of Demona's genetic make-up they would believe she is actually her - only to be attacked by gargoyles - which they know how to deal with - a human - who would be easy enough to deal with, Elisa doesn't have the same amount of training as the siblings do in fighting - but the three mutates would have caught them off guard, it won't be something they are used to dealing with and yet they would be well aware that they are not gargoyles.
For this plan to work though, they would need to keep enticing the Hunters, using Delilah all the time, the Hunters wouldn't know of the secret base they have that the mutates live in, which would give Delilah sanctuary to get away from them if they get too close.
Would they had succeeded in doing that alongside David Xanatos and his Steel Clan (once he knew what happened to the gargoyles, put on his exo-suit armor, brought along two of his Steel Clan robots with him to find the gargoyle clan's murderers, found out where the Hunters were going, flew to the Saint Damien's Cathedral and arrived after all the other parties, Elisa and the mutates, the gargoyle stalkers and Demona, did)?
They would have a better chance with Xanatos with them, and he would have come along for the ride, even if Talon and Elisa told him to back off. Xanatos would want to get back at the Hunters for destroying the gargoyles - they foiled his plans constantly, granted he always had back-ups, but he also found that they were good for the city and constantly proved it - he would have followed the two siblings, after hunting down the Hunters himself, with help from Owen of course, and giving the Maza siblings clues as to where the Hunters would be next.
Being late to the party would give him an advantage over the Hunters, they wouldn't have expected him to actually be part of the fight, much less bring about the Steel Clan which all look eerily similar to Golaith.
It would also meant that Xanatos could assure the police and the people of New York that there was no gargoyles and this was just a terrorist group, or even a TV show gone wrong. I would also think that Coldstone and Coldfire would return, most likely Xanatos would have hacked there servers to contact them about the death of their own clan and the going's on in New York.
If Eliza and the others defeated the Hunters, foiled Demona's big plan (with Xanatos being the one to break the Praying Gargoyle), prevented the canister (containing her virus) from getting smashed on the floor, knocked out Demona and got out of the cathedral as quickly as possible, but not before detaining the three Hunters and bringing the unconscious pale blue gargoyle with them, where would they head off to next?
The Castle. It would be a logical move to return to there, it would be safe - Xanatos always has plenty of back up plans after all - and they need rest, to realise the journey is at an end now. The problem now is, what to do with Demona?
Who's cell do you think Demona be placed in? The mutates' or Xanatos'? Regardless of which group's cell she would be in, would Eliza, Matt and the mutates gained a new ally in Xanatos (and by extension, allies in Fox and Owen/Puck as well)?
Xanatos is his own ally. Elisa knows better than to solely trust him, he is out for himself and will happily use anyone to get what he wants, even in a not so obvious way. She would trust him a little bit more, with Fox also extending her sympathy to her and perhaps they get a rocky-friendship to form. Xanatos would want Demona placed in one of his own secure cells, the mutates and Elisa can't argue with him about that, he would most liekly make it harder for her to escape, although they are all aware that chances are she will end up escaping and the cycle of innocent gargoyles being killed because of her will never end.
When Demona wakes up, what would her reactions be to being locked up? Would Demona find some way to regain her freedom?
Rage, Demona doesn't like being in a cage, she will blame the human's for her plan being thawarted and threaten Owen numerous times - he and sometimes Xanatos will come down to see her, give her food ect - she would be patient though - although I would think her chance of freedom would come from another clan members, Coldsteel, who would also have gotten the message that Xanatos sent out, freeing her and then leaving the city.
If Eliza decided to pay a visit to Jason (the oldest of the Hunters) in a prison he's being held in to give him a piece of her mind, what would she say to him?
She would probably talk to him - calmly to begin with, trying to swallow her anger down - about the gargoyles he sensely murdered, and repeatedly call him that, a murderer.
She would probably tell him about how she had met Goliath, how he had saved her from death, and all the good things the clan did for the city. Perhaps while she was talking Jason would realise that although she once had feelings of a kind in regards to him, her heart had belonged to Goliath. What his feelings would be in realising that is harder to say. Perhaps disgust, anger, jealousy, guilt? Although Jason has a lot of pride, it would take a lot for him to realise that he was in the wrong the whole time. But maybe his pride does give way, because he does like Elisa, he enjoys her company when they were both officers, he appreciated her, and now she regarded him as a murderer of her friends.
Would the scenarios here change Xanatos further into becoming a decent person (not just in honor of the deceased gargoyle clan, but also for the world at large)?
No. Xanatos looks out for himself, his family and friends, he wouldn't turn a new leaf because of this. This was just a blip in the world of Xanatos, it's not his nature to suddenly become a good/decent person.
And finally, ending this alternate universe scenario off here with this next question, would the Illuminati of the Gargoyles Universe offer all three Hunters a chance to achieve their new objective in annihilating not only Demona, but every other gargoyle around the world (albeit for their own ulterior motives)?
I doubt the Illuminati would want criminals that have already been in prison and known to be terroritst to be part of their group particularly in regards to this, the three siblings would be known by name and face around the world.
If they were to be given a chance to show that they were willing to hunt down and kill gargoyles, I would think it would be the sister who would go for it, not the brother's. Jason would be realising how much the gargoyles meant to Elisa and how not all gargoyles around the world were like Demona, and Jon would still feel guilt at his part in the murder.
