hi, sorry for the delay, i ran into a few technical hurdles.

anyway, here is a link to the fractal material version of the above animation. hope you guys enjoy it. this latest video has taken me about 6 months, mainly working on the new rigs and materials. and i still haven't found time to actually animate the fractals. that's next on my to do list, he he.

Okay… this looks light years a head of where you were

I can see a lot of potential here

Do you mean for the starfish/jellyfish things to interact?

If yes, what is they each put out one tentacle, hook tentacles together and briefly spin around/dance with each other before separating and going there own way

hi bear, i was really hoping you'd like the upgraded tech, so thanks very much for the compliment my friend.

the new rigs were a huge amount of effort to design, but they are actually easier to animate. so hopefully i can produce a lot of animations with them in the near future. and i doubt i'll need to do any other major updates to them for this project. they can also be easily expanded with their library of movements and static poses, the latter i usually morph between.

yes, some of the planned animations will hopefully include the "male" tentacle creature joining with the "female" starfish type creature, which in then morph into the 3rd little creature.

and we're definitely thinking along the same lines with your suggestion, as another animation i have been concept designing will feature a type of synchronized swimming/flying.

i've got a few more little tweaks to do to the fractal materials but should be able to render one of those over the next day or two.

i think this is the first uploaded animation since i started working on my flat mates laptop, after my 7 year old pc died last year.

the lighting is very simple, next render will hopefully be more colorful. i hope people enjoy the new tentacle animations. i literally have spent months developing and animating the rigs for them, in between working on the new fractal based materials.
