One rainy afternoon, the silence broke. Corvax appeared at Alex’s chamber door, his usual rigid posture softened, his claws nervously tracing the wood grain. He didn’t demand entry, simply stood there, the dampness clinging to his cloak. "Alex?" His voice, usually resonant with command, was uncharacteristically hesitant, almost swallowed by the drumming rain. "I... I need to speak with you." He paused, gathering courage.
