Dark side of Knight

I can hear the wind's howl against my ear, like a furious wolf defending her babes.

The sky gone, in it's absence a melancholy darkness, the tree's shiver in fright and terror.

Laying down before me, on the velvet coated dirt, was my old friend. Lifeless as a doll, body frozen as ice. In my hear, I feel no regrets, no sadness, not even an ounce of anger.

For a swift of my sword, all of my emotion poured into it.

Letting it all go at once.

For what purpose one might ask? Why did I kill my friend?

Why did a knight, a character supposedly full of honor and chivalry, stoop so low?

My friend, man I once thought to be a good man, living a simple life of a carpenter,

Turned out to be a monster.

Nay, he isn't a demon in man's skin, just a regular person like any other.

For 10 night's people in the village go missing.

Children, women, the elderly, anyone weak and feeble he could get his hand's on.

He would then go take them to his home, and by the god's....

His frilly hands, soaked in ash, grabs a knife, poking and prodding his prey.

The poor soul, tied down to a chair, hands twisted, their feet trapped against the chair's wood.

There was no escape for them, no hope.

He chuckled, like the madman he was.

Silently, he let fear kill them, the thought of being stabbed, the thought of death, would freeze anyone, let their heart stop.

He didn't even need to swing.

With death, comes “playtime”

The corpse, still tied to the chair, would endure another hour of despair.

My friend was a child in his head, he wanted to play dress up.

He would grab a pair of clothes, any costume he could make.

He would dress up the dead, to anything. To a simple maid, a knight, a jester, even a king or queen.

And once they were dress up, he would talk to them as if they were alive, the psychopath!!

He then cut off their binds, and take the dead to a secret room, where he kept other victims dressed up as well.

A room filled with standing corpses, dress up neatly, a foul stench poisoned the air in the room, but it didn't bother him.

He was having “fun.”

This man, my “friend,” laughed so terribly at his handiwork, for he didn't suspect me.

I patrolled the road, with his down the corner

I heard his voice, screeching the air with his evil laugh. I wondered what was going on? Why was he laughing like his.

I ran to the door, I tried to open it, but it was locked.

With a good kick, I whacked it down, my hand touching the hilt of my sword.

I slowly walked across the area, looking for my friend.

Then I found his own personal hell, my eyes in bitter shock, my throat choked, my muscled tensed.

I couldn't believe what I saw, no!!

The people, we Knights have been looking for, are here! In my friend's home.

I didn't want to believe it! I couldn't!

Then as if on reflex, I blocked a swift attack from my “friend”

I angrily puffed, “Why did you do this?” I demanded.

“I don't like being alone my friend, I hate it being here all by myself! No one in town likes me! They don't want anything to do with me, I'm an outcast! An ugly roach, a girl dare not look at!”

It was true, for my friend wasn't a sight to behold, he lost his eye since he was just a babe, his face scarred when his father beat him up for misbehaving. He was lucky for me to be his only friend. For we knew each other since we were kids,we always been there for each other, for often I stood up for him against bullies, but over the years, we drifted apart piece by piece. I became a knight, and I had no time for him, which took a toll on our friendship. The long absence away from home, damaged his mind, for he hated being alone.

But killing people, and making them his toys is never an answer.

I spoke no more, he needed to die for what he's done. I swing, I swung my sword viciously, he dared fight back against me. He wasn't a slouch, he knew some moves. He kicked me back and he ran for the door. I followed suit.

His speed was no match for mine, as I was wearing light armor, like a bird catching his prey, my sword pierced his chest. My friend collapsed unto the dirt, lifeless like the people he took.

I breathed hard, laying my eyes down on the man I once trusted, like him, I now felt alone.

Hey everyone, sorry for not posting so often ^^; Here's a quick gift to my friend :iconnovaheroi: and a tribute for Halloween! Enjoy! :D
