The Uru call the mountainous regions to the North of their plains 'The Teeth' as the black stones rising out of the snow resemble animal teeth - most if not all animals in my world have black teeth so, there's the resemblance
The bird is a random condor/vulture based on old world critters, I've yet to decide which one!
One cockatrice/terror burd noping out in the background there, not so cocky without his backup!
I'll be posting a 'step by step' of this once its finished on my Patreon if people are interested in seeing how I got this far and how I get to the completed image!
This is also a pretty good example of the coloured sketches I'll be posting in the future for my lowest tier - mid tier and up will get 'step by step' gif's while the highest will get early access to finished pictures/my comic page buffer. I'm getting there!
Thanks for looking as always!

this is looking really good! if you want to go extra obscure for a specific species to cite as inspiration to fit your paleo-inspired theme, there are just.... so many fossil new world vultures. highly recommend Gymnogyps (modern california condors are the only living species, but there's a dece number of extinct ones), because apparently Vultur doesn't fossilize well (which is such a shame, because not gonna lie Andean Condors look cooler)
Are you going the kind of prehistoric fantasy route? Cos that's what I've been mulling over leaning to a bit more. Maybe a mix between prehistoric vibes and medieval. Something about the roots of humanity that draws me toward it. If so, how are you finding it?
No I don't think so! And yeah I ttoally am getting the appeal of primordial critters for inspiration. There's just something like...sitting in the cover of rocks, fire, and looking up at the ancient night sy that makes me wanna mix the sources : ) Note me with your discord.
