My Bio

Jess, 38. Started drawing in October of 2018, hooked on the lure of Inktober, and started sporadically painting in February of 2019. Dabbled off and on before deciding to buckle down and actually take art semi-seriously in January of 2020. All the art displayed on DeviantArt (unless noted otherwise) is from 2020 onwards.

I'm a full-time educator, working remotely for the '20/'21 school year, and parent to a precocious and neurodivergent 6 year old, who is also remote learning. It has been... a process. I'm married and I've been with my wife since 2008, married since 2010. I love working on collaborative art projects; I was recently an artist on The Fat Folks Tarot Project and have been applying to zines and other projects as they pique my interest.

When I'm not art-ing, I like to read (trying to find the time and focus is a challenge, but...), write, cook, solve puzzles (think Journal 29 or Codex Enigmatum), solve Hunt-a-Killer cases, play escape-the-room games, read fanfic, and watch British panel shows (and obsess over James Acaster. I am head-over-heels in a bad way).
