Haha, I remember making similar maps - eagle and all - when planning out the borders of my HRE in Europa Universalis 2. Nice work.

I'm fine, I guess. Haven't had all that much motivation to do anything on dA in a while, so haven't been around much apart from checking messages and whatnot.

Wondering if you would mind me using it on a t-shirt? Would also give you credit at the bottom of the shirt as well.

Sure, go ahead. No need to give me credit anywhere on the shirt though. The design would probably look cooler without that, and I feel bad for being officially credited for something that was kind of just traced and simplified rather than made from scratch.

Strange, This is the Russian Coat of Arms. Russia was not Holy, Not Roman, and not an Empire. Then again. Not even Rome was Holy. It was Roman (DUH) it was an Empire (DUH AGAIN) And, I guess it was holy, I don't want to piss anyone off religiously.

While it is true that the Russian Empire also used a dual-headed eagle like this, that's not the eagle this is meant to be. The origins of the eagles are the same though; both the Holy Roman Empire and the Russian Empire used them to show their descent from the true Roman Empire. If memory serves, the Czars "inherited" theirs through marriage with a Byzantine princess.

I'm just saying. The Holy Roman Empire Lasted about 842 Years. The Russian Empire. 862 A.D. To Present. So, much longer. Plus the Two-Headed-Eagle is still a national animal of Russia today.

If you count the Kievan Rus' as the start of the later Russian Empire, and the modern day Russian Republic as a direct continuation of that, then you'd also have to count East Francia (843 A.D.) as the start of the later Holy Roman Empire, and Germany and/or Austria as a direct continuation of that. Roughly the same age in other words.

Anyway, the major difference between the eagle of the HRE and the eagle of Russia is that the HRE one is black while the Russian one is golden. Same source, different adaptation lol

And yes, it's true that Russia still uses the old eagle in a more or less unchanged form. Certainly better than what the Germans and Austrians did with theirs. XD
