Time Flies...(broom or not)

Journal Entry: Fri Oct 17, 2014, 3:48 PM
Well here we are in October already. Another couple of weeks and Halloween will be here!!! (WOOT!! bring on the candy).
You might notice I am uploading a lot of cross stitch these days. Believe me, I'm on a run with it at the moment. Most of these patterns have been made since June.

All my patterns are available through:

Wholesale: www.icgcrafts.com/  <-- look by designer " Artists Alley"

Retail: www.everythingcrossstitch.com/   <--- look by designer "Artists Alley"  and if you check out ICG first to see my entire listing, but don't see a specific title on everythingcrossstitch, just email and ask them, they will get it in for you!!!

I hope everyone has a great Halloween and a Blessed Samhain. Stay safe, check your candy and may you be healthy, happy and whole!!!

Praise the Art Gallery Prints!!!

Journal Entry: Wed Nov 20, 2013, 3:48 PM

In October I ordered a print of one of my most loved works here on deviant.

The print is positively stunning. I purchased the Art Gallery Print, rolled without a frame ( easier for shipping to canada ).  I highly recommend these prints, they are high quality and look awesome. Also, I highly recommend taking a look at Brandrificus's gallery, beautiful work and well worth the time to browse.

Thanks Brandy, for creating a work of art that truly speaks to the soul. Thanks DeviantArt, for always striving to provide such quality with all your products and prints!!

Holiday Card Project

Journal Entry: Sat Nov 9, 2013, 12:50 PM

Once again deviantArt is holding the Holiday Card Project.
I encourage everyone to take part in this event, not for the things you get for it but for the light and love it spreads through us all.

No one likes being away from family and friends during the holidays and there is nothing worse to someone in a hospital than feeling down and melancholy at a time when they need to have the best outlook on life.

So everyone, grab a card, make a card, paint a card and spread a little holiday love. Lets show everyone that there is still hope and human kindness.

Holiday Card Project Stamp by Heidi
 For More Information
Holiday Card Project 2013
It's back!  With the goal of bringing a little cheer to patients in the hospital during the holiday season, the deviantART Holiday Card Project connects deviants from around the world and applies their tremendous artistic abilities in designing and creating uplifting holiday cards.
In past years, the Project has received more than 5,000 cards sent in by more than 1,000 deviants from 50 different countries/political regions. Cards were then divvied up and distributed in-person by deviantART members to local Los Angeles hospitals, with additional cards given to various hospitals in the U.S. and abroad for hospital staff members to hand out to patients.
The idea behind the Holiday Card Project is simple: do something nice for others. However, if you're looking for even more incentive, every deviant who submits a card will be given a free one-month Premium Membership to deviant

Another day... Another night...

Journal Entry: Mon May 20, 2013, 9:10 PM
I know, I know... it has been forever since I last did any sort of update. I won't give excuses, I'm lazy when it comes to doing updates.
It has been a productive time for me though. The company " Artists Alley " has celebrated its 10 year anniversary and launched a whole new division of products under the name " Twisted Treasures ".
I think I'm running out of categories to produce under these days. We have every form of art possible ( be it shown here or not ), Cross Stitch Design, Writing, and now, with Twisted Treasures, I offer handmade jewelry and keepsakes. I have even gotten into Chainmail. I love working with my hands, and wire, metal and stone seems to have made all the difference in my world.
On a sad note to this though, I have not had much time to work on painting. I actually miss it and I'm hoping to take a break after October - when I have a fair to attend - so that I can do something new. My writing bug has been gnawing at my brain too. GAH! So many ideas and not enough hours in the day and night.
Oh well, what are you gonna do but keep plugging away at it all.
The website has been redesigned and at this time, Twisted Treasures has a fully up to date and available line of work up. I have to finish coding and adding to the rest of the site so that my artwork is there along with anything else I need up there.

and the clock tolls: 12:07 am... and the pillow I'm leaning on is beckoning my head - sad to say I have another 3-4 hours of work yet.
so if you want to... head on over to www.artists-alley.com and take a look. I'm always ready for orders and feedback.

~Namaste~

Fallen Leaves, Silent Nights

Journal Entry: Sun Sep 25, 2011, 4:06 PM
Gallery | Watch Me | Note Me | Facebook

Wow the year is passing fast, before we know it we will turn around to a whole new set of numbers to remember when writing dates.

So, What's New?
I have seemingly been stuck in sketch mode and try new things mode. I have started playing with beads and wire, clay and scratch board and chalk. I think I am finding that with the falling of the leaves and the longer nights, I'm a little more scatter brained and restless.
I'm hoping that before the year is out I can finish some work and actually post it up, seems like forever since I last put something in my gallery (course, the length of time since my last journal entry should show that I'm sorta lacking in the creative moments). I think right now, what I might focus on is trying to find the room here. I have no organization anymore, everything is sorta all over the place. What I wouldn't give for a larger apartment or a second bedroom.

Oh well, time shall tell the tale I have yet to paint...

Feature

Journal Entry: Tue Jun 29, 2010, 1:06 PM

This is more than just a feature, it is a calling to the whole of dA :community: . A call for everyone to voice a reason -

" REASONS TO LIVE "

We all have them, we all know them even if they are kept silent in our hearts and minds.
In these times where life seems to slip away from us all so easily; where war and disease make all the world fight just to keep on moving; where we all struggle as one under stress of economical downfall, the environment's ever changing face and the rush to make change so that  there can be a better tomorrow... it is now more than ever that we all need to remember what we live for..

remember -  the populous of our planet is like the stars in the night sky, each exists and gives to the light and yes they all still shine if one goes out, but that one that went out leaves it a little bit darker.

Please, contribute to the master list that is currently being created ( see the link for more info ) fav.me/n121668

My Reasons:

1. I live to see see a tomorrow made better by today
2. I live for Hope
3. I live because I can

There is nothing more divine than a mind filled of whimsy and magic, lost in the lines of magic and wonder.

I could never find a more suitable gallery to place this quote upon than the gallery of :iconmaryanne42: Brian Partridge . I get lost within the flow of Brian's world, every line and shadow created to each work of art. I could think of no better a person to feature in my journal this month, seeing as the newly released Alice in Wonderland has hit the theaters and caused a whole new generation of people to love the magic and playfulness of one of the world's most beloved stories. :iconmaryanne42: Brian Partridge has captured the spirit and innocence of so many in his wonderful works. I had such a hard time trying to pick which of his works I would put into the journal entry, so I cannot state this enough.... YOU HAVE TO SEE THE WHOLE OF HIS GALLERY!!!! So very very worth it.

Between the Shadows and the Light

Journal Entry: Fri Dec 18, 2009, 8:00 AM

Sighs.... I had a whole new entry written up and ready to go including new features and reviews, but alas, my page decided to close before I got to hit the SAVE button... so I will have to redo it again, but not at the minute.

I invite people to answer the pole I just listed up, I'm looking for thoughts and ideas on what online places are best to purchase items with my own art on them.

You see all my light and you love my dark

Journal Entry: Fri Sep 4, 2009, 10:19 PM

Here I go again, trying to find myself a CSS Style that I like enough to keep more than a few months. I keep seeing all these beautiful custom designs that have that persons actual artwork on and I think to myself... Wow, I would love to have something like that...
Then of course I sit here and realize I don't have the time I need to code a CSS Style Journal...especially since I have a website I need to update, a trade show coming up that I have to have the business ready for and a slew of other things that just seem to erase free time off the map.
I keep meaning to make myself a couple of stamps, a couple of banners and write the codes for this journal, my blogger journal that is dedicated to just my artwork and a few other places that I have areas to promo myself...oh well, one of these days..lol

for now I'm nearing completion of the phoenix mask for the painting " The Phoenix and the Peacock " and it has left me staring at the mask that my peacock is wearing instead of holding...so many ideas, feathers, plumes, perhaps nothing but a little color and use the costume itself to build the guise he wears...also staring at pippa and that dress shes wearing, i love it plain, but it needs more, it needs to look like a passionate flame wrapped about the delicate frame of a woman who has all but given up on the 'secret admirer' and is on her way to leave the masquerade ball, when out of no where, this man appears upon the stair, heart bore upon his sleeve, making motion that grabs her attention and stops her...

errrrrr okay so I'm a lunatic, I'm the first to admit it. I'm one of those chicks lost in a nonexistent notion that 'Happily Ever After' and 'True Love' can actually happen and be real. Sue me.... I can't help it. Some people tell me I'm living in the wrong century, some tell me the wrong era all together. All I do is smile and go on about my life, writing about love, longing, losing...how the petals fall from the rose before they feel the tender touch of a hearts perfected match. ( i'm doing it again arn't I? )

OOOKKKKKAY then.... I think I'll go back to work... oh and if you are wondering why its a phoenix and not a peahen, well the phoenix is sort of the totem to my life... no matter how many times you fall, no matter how many times you are burned and your heart lays strewn as ash upon the floor; I rise up and keep going.. Hope, it is what keeps me, it drives the breath and pulls me along the path of my life...
really really going now lol

.: In the Heart of a Fallen :.

Well some people have actually e-mailed me to see if I am still alive, here's your confirmation people, I LIVE!!
I have been busy though, running around like a chicken with my head chopped off, even though it is just here in the apartment.
To date I have 13, yes you read that right "Thirteen", paintings on the go and more cross stitch patterns than there are hours in a month. I signed a new artist into the ranks of Artists Alley, her artwork will be available in patterns as soon as I can get it there.
The trade show in April was a resounding success and now I'm hoping the one in October does just as good as April. Seems that the company, though it be a slow grow, is starting to be seen as something that will be staying around. I'm hoping in the next year to start releasing a line of punch needle patterns, seeing as I have all the things needed for it and it is more like an embroidery then a ton of little xxxxx's.
As for the whole painting scene, I've pretty much reverted to being digital. I must admit, it takes longer because detailing and blending isn't as easy as it is with regular paint and a brush, but I'm getting the hang of it and after already releasing my first six digitally painted works, I've sort of become addicted to it. Don't get me wrong mind you, I do love, LOVE LOVE, my traditional art form and will never give it up but the digital is really opening my eyes to how in depth you can get in various color tones and how much easier it is to get that perfect print when you don't have to photo it.

Current reading list for the summer:

I'm pulling out some old favorites actually.
L.J. Smith: The Secret Circle ( 3 separate books )
L.J. Smith: Vampire Diaries ( 4 separate books )

What's new

Okay so it has been a long time since I last updated anything here and man am I ever behind. I just did everything for the Celts :iconcelts: club and that took more than two hours.

So much is on the go here in the studio. Artists Alley has just released over 80 new designs and we already have new ones piling up as the days pass on.
There will be new artwork posted in soon, I hope. There are around 9 paintings on the go in the studio at the moment but only so much time in the day.
Hope everyone has a great Halloween and a  Blessed Samhain

I would also like to invite everyone to visit my website: artists-alley.com
I have just redone the site completely and also added in new charts which are for sale. There will be even more added in before September 2008. Thanks, it is appreciated.

ARTISTS ADVERTISEMENT SPECIAL OFFER!!

Artists Alley's website ( www.artists-alley.com ) is currently being recreated. When done it will be reloaded and ready for the grand reopening of the company. Today I am offering ALL ARTISTS the chance to place an advertisement on my site for a very reasonable fee.

The advertisement can consist of a banner ( animated or other ) and if you wish it can also include a small blurb that sums up your site.

...what makes this different from a regular links page? My links page is nothing more then a table set with 4 rows and click-able names, there are no logos, no special identifying marks or colors. This links page is also a complete listing for both my cross stitch and artwork.
The Advertising I am offering will be set up on its own page, a link called Artists I Support ( or something similar to it ) and it will have the artists name, site, art style, their banner/graphic, the blurb and web address ( name, web addy, banner/graphic will all be hyper-linked to your site )
...Do I need a personal .com/ca/org/net address? No, you can use the address of any place you wish to advertise your art on. Personal website, Deviantart, elfwoof, ect ect...all are welcome.

COST: $ 8.00 US a year ( this means it remains on the site until such time that Artists Alley is no longer in business under the name of Angela Hatheway )

Payments can be made to PayPal ... artistsalley@sympatico.ca
Please ensure you add the subject as : Advertise  and include in the notes or comments your email address so I can contact you to get the details.

Robbery, Offline for a while

October 5, 2007

Whoever said life was not full of sharp twists and turns had to be living in a nunnary.
Everyone knows that on September 19 Robert ( my step dad ) passed away suddenly. Well theres more to add to this now. October 2, 2007 we were at the cemetary to lay his ashes to rest and while there at my mothers side someone decided to play " let's rob the artists house ".
I came home frommy mothers on wednesday at 9:30 am to find my bedroom window had been broken through. My cat cowering in a corner and the things I rely on most in the world were gone.
I am on a disability pension, being agoraphobic and prone to panic attacks and other social problems tends to not make on able to hold a job in public. I rely on my computer as a connection to anything and everything that I am a part of.. well they took it, my digital camera, my mp3 player, a few other odds and ends right down to the family heirlooms that had been given to me only months prior by my grandmother. All my jewelry is gone....but most of all they stole the computer, and with it they stole my business. All my files, my addresses, contacts to companies, products and the list goes on...
Right now I'm at my mother's on her computer. I will be borrowing her lap top for a day or so to see what i can salvage off the mash of disks they tossed and hacked up...though I think the case of disks they thought was music but it was really business programs and my back up files, went with them.
Long road ahead..... long nights and long days....

( September 2007 )
this is more to the members of the club Celts. I will be away for a few days due to my dad passing away. I will not have access to the account informations or anything else for the club as I am not at home. If You are a club member please pass the word on as HelloNurse is off this week and left the club in my hands. I just wanted to let everyone know why things were not being answered there.
Thank you

Well here we are again.

Artists Alley Website:

Well, after a weeks worth of fun dealing with hosting sites, domain name renewal sites and pretty much every person who works with the Adobe Software company customer service center, I can honestly say I hope I never go through that again.
For now I have the old site up and running once more, which is fine and dandy and tickles me to no end because I am not the only one who can see it. Nothing worse then trying to point something out to another person only to have them say they don't see what you are talking about.
However, this site will not be up too long ( I hope ), as I am in the process of redoing it all again. Hand done graphics, and hopefully a little less hoopla in the navigation. Not to mention adding in additional links, how to's and quick tips. If you are interested in checking out what is there already please follow the link.
