You're Not Alone
“Sometimes we lay aside our own troubles when we wipe away another's tears.”

his life is not easy; a winding, sometimes whimsical, sometimes tragic journey that ultimately finds terminus in the same common destination for each of us. No matter the brave, fierce constructs we build and serve that would have us believe we are each one of us all alone as we make this journey, we make our way toward the end of all things side-by-side in our community of the living each day defying death. Our paths may be wildly divergent—the way of the hungry and impoverished traveling the same timeline with the grotesquely indulgent, the very best of us side-by-side with the most evil of us; but all headed for the same fate: dust. Holiday Card Project 2013
It's back! With the goal of bringing a little cheer to patients in the hospital during the holiday season, the deviantART Holiday Card Project connects deviants from around the world and applies their tremendous artistic abilities in designing and creating uplifting holiday cards.
In past years, the Project has received more than 5,000 cards sent in by more than 1,000 deviants from 50 different countries/political regions. Cards were then divvied up and distributed in-person by deviantART members to local Los Angeles hospitals, with additional cards given to various hospitals in the U.S. and abroad for hospital staff members to hand out to patients.
The idea behind the Holiday Card Project is simple: do something nice for others. However, if you're looking for even more incentive, every deviant who submits a card will be given a free one-month Premium Membership to deviant

Participation is easy!

New! Cubism Messenger Bag Design Challenge!
What comes to mind when you hear the name Pablo Picasso? That’s right, it’s time to break it down, Cubism-style! For the first time ever, we are hosting a Messenger Bag Design Challenge! We want you to create an original design for the flap of the bag in the style of Cubism.
For this challenge, we are defining Cubism as an art style in which instead of depicting objects from one viewpoint, the artist depicts the subject from multiple viewpoints to represent the subject in a greater context. Often, the surfaces intersect at seemingly random angles, removing a coherent sense of depth. The background and object planes interpenetrate one another to create a shallow ambiguous space.
Your design should appear on the flap of the bag (below the zipper), using only

DRAGON CASTLE by randis
According to the Chinese zodiac, 2012 has ushered in the year of the dragon upon the world stage.
In addition to occupying an ages old position in our cultural consciousness, legend and folklore surrounding
the dragon mythology has long been firing the kiln of our dreams with fright and menace. When we are speaking of

Poe's Death List
Foreword by techgnotic
Fri Oct 21, 2011, 8:23 PM
As Halloween approaches, what better way to celebrate the season when the spectral
boundaries of the Kingdom of the Spirits of the Dead touch briefly with the mystical
edges of the Domain of We the Living than to invoke the battered and hellishly bedeviled
soul of Edgar Allan Poe to guide us in communication between (his) ghostly and (our)
ghastly planes of existence.
Poe invented the “detective” story and was an early father of “sci-fi”, and he was also an
extraordinary poet, but he is best known for his Gothic tales of mystery and abject horror –
nearly all of them anchored in the apprehension of an impending cruel and unnatural death.

Massive Art Theft From dA and FA Artists
I felt this was important enough to make an article out of. This is something I received through Tumblr and dutifully passed along. I am trying to spread the word about this massive theft case.
Here's the quoted text:
They are stealing artworks from all over DeviantArt and FurAffinity, then posting them as paintings on canvas with huge price tags. Please please check to see if anything of yours has been taken, and file a DMCA with the sites host.
Please pass this on so we can get this disgusting thing shut down.
