Baveras by RaNuit Baveras by RaNuit
Santharian Goddess of the Sea:

Baveras - who can find the the fitting words to describe the wild sea, the calm lagoons, the depth of the waters? There isn't a poet yet capable to describe the beauty, the strangeness and horrendous, yet the supporting, caring and loving demeanour of the Sea Goddess, the Goddess of all Water, be it streaming rivers or calm, hidden lakes!
Her face of a white, marble colour seems to look very young, more like a youthful maiden than a grown woman. Her features are even, her nose straight, the often mysteriously smiling lips finely curved and the eyes large with an enchanting look. Looking in these eyes, one doesn't see a young girl, but feels as if one is falling into eternity without return. These eyes, with the colour changing from the sky blue of a calm sea at midday with sunbeams throwing slivers of light over the surface, to the deep green of the depths of her crevasses, to a tumultuous black of a water world in chaos: One will never forget those eyes.
The hair of the Watery Goddess flows like her creeks abundantly down her slender, youthful body or is floating upon the water like her sea-foam, reflecting her element even more than her eyes. The colour of her dresses is ever-changing, from the white of water tossed at the cliffs to the emerald green of a lovely bay, from the deep blue of the high sea, to the characteristic green of a lake in the high mountains, from the ice blue of young rivers emerging from the mountains to far to the north, to the terrifying black of the drowning sea at night.

laughs... I actually enjoyed it. I have done banners and sigs for people for years and all I do with themis layer and meld and manipulate and filter and enhance with the mouse. I have built clothing on nude images and all... just... i don't know, it isn't as easy as it is with a paint brush
hence why i am wanting to try the tablet so much LOL
I'm thinking the one reason i have such a pain with painting, even though I love it, is I preffer smooth seemless surfaces. No matter what I paint on unless its pressed wood ( like a dresser or something, which I do paint pics on, nothing is safe in my house ) I just don't like the end results. Water Color paper has too much roughness, canvas has a material like grooving even when you put gesso on it.... at least with the tablet I can get that smooth surface cause its all digitized...
and I'm rambling here again... crosses eyes... I have the want to do somthing but I just don't know what at the moment so my brain is in overtime

Oh, I remember making ad banners and graphics for quite a few years using my mouse, and at the time I didn't mind it much. But once I got the tablet I wonder how I ever managed.

I do understand how you feel about the smooth surface preference. Honestly I'm the same way. My all-time favorite painting surface is smooth plate Bristol board.

As for multi-tasking, I decided to be ambitious tonight and make a massive deep-dish lasagna. Great food that makes enough leftovers to carry till payday! :D

do you have a name and company or product info on your board that you use hun, I might be able to get it to take a look and try it out through Currys in Toronot or even have the local shop here order it in....

ears perk...has a garfield moment.... mmmmmm my favorite... I'll be there in an hour.. LOL

I do indeed - WACOM

Mine is the 9 x 12 Intuos 2. They've since released a newer model, so you might be able to find one like mine at a lower price at places like Ebay or Overstock.com or similar shopping sites.

As for the lasagna - it's funny you should mention Garfield. My son became a Garfield addict not too long ago, so when I told him I was making lasagna and he couldn't remember the last time he'd had it, I mentioned Garfield and he was instantly sold. Let's hear it for the influence of pop culture! :D

and umm hun, i didn't mean your tablet..giggles... I was asking about the board you use to draw on, the bristol grins... though I have looked at both the intuos2 and the newer one 3.... it will cost me about 500 canadian after taxes to get the 9x12.. though I didn't check out the cost for the one you have....(goes to look)
cracks up laughing... it would cost me more for the older technology... i'm not kiddin ya. 500 before taxes for the 9x12 intuos2 man oh man that just goes to show ya how backwards my country really is...heheh

actually they were blue fish in a blue thingy... smirks... i just adjusted the color ratio of the fish itself and then the source in which the image would have been taken in, I changed it from a natural tone light ( like sun and a lightbulb together ) and upped it to merely be the suns light source so there is more of a warm orange light....
and I'm rambling now lol
