Star Wars and Me

This is my pre-Special Editions Star Wars collection. And me.

The summer of 2006 was my last summer as a student, so I figured it was my last chance to take the time to display my Star Wars collection. The original plan was to display everything - that had to be scrapped when I realised how much of it there was, hence the restriction to pre-Special Edition merchandise only.

It took about a week of fairly consistent effort to get it all out of the loft, out of cardboard boxes, cleaned up, sorted, and arranged as you see here. I'm really glad I made that effort, as I just couldn't make that kind of commitment any more.

The lesson I learned was that if you ever have an urge to collect something, make sure you keep your whole collection on display, otherwise that urge will never be satiated, and you'll end up with a stupid amount of stuff. But at least I got this photo out of it, which I consider to be a kind of self-portrait.
