Commissions are CLOSED!

Thu Oct 15, 2015, 9:43 PM

Hey guys!
Like my Art? Would you like me to draw for you?
If the answer is 'Yes' (specifically for the second question), then read further below!

If the answer is 'No' for any of them..
Scram by RandoWis

Please stay.

First and foremost!

The system works in a first-come-first-serve basis!
There will be NO reserved slots.

As I'm still new to commissioning you beautiful people,
I've only opened up 10 slots. Don't want to bite more than I can chew.
As time goes on and if things go well, I'll open up more slots.

If all 10 slots are filled up,
I will temporarily set commissions to 'FULL' so that requests do not stockpile.
Please be patient then, I will re-open eventually!

One request per person please.
Give others a chance to request too.

I work down the list, one at a time;
In other words, if you are number 10,
please wait for me to work on the other 9 first.

I will inform you of your position and
roughly how long you might have to wait.

1. Payment is through PayPal.
  - Please send to:
  - IMPORTANT: Please select "No Shipping Address Needed" when sending payments.
This is so that Paypal knows its for a digital piece and not a physical product.

2. Prices are in USD
3. I will only begin your commission AFTER a down-payment of 50% of the total price.
    - This is to assure you that I'll do the job, and to assure me that you won't run away.
Not saying you will, but it has happened before.
If you do, it would mean that you love me and donated to me.

4. Once the drawing is completed, I will send you a low-res copy with a watermark as proof that
     it's done.
    - You will receive the high-res copy once I have received the remaining 50%
      of the total price

5. Duration is USUALLY 2 - 3 days, depending on the number, style, and complexity of the
    - Also, if I do run a little late, please do not rush me. We all have our commitments in
our lives which others are not aware of.

So please understand, however, you can trust that I will complete your work.

6. Copyrights. This is something you lovie-dovie-peeps should know if you ever
     commission someone.
    - If I do a commission for you, you still own the rights to your character.
    - HOWEVER, I own the rights to the drawing that I made for you.
That means I can use the artwork in my portfolio, but I can't say that I created your character.
    - If you'd like to use the drawing for commercial uses, please inform me and we'll negotiate.

7. Please do not use the commissions I made for you for commercial uses
     without my permission.

    - It isn't nice if you made a cake for me and I sold it behind your back.

8. I will sign on all commissions. Please don't remove it. Please. PLEASE!
    - Removing my signature is the same as me claiming that I created your character.
Both of us wouldn't like that, now would we?

9. The rough workflow is as follows:

If you'd like any changes made, please bring it up in the SKETCHES/OUTLINES stage.
After OUTLINES stage, there will be no changes.
However, to be fair, MINOR 'adjustments' in the FINISHED ARTWORK are acceptable.
I'll decide if it is, or isn't minor, if such a situation shows up.
(Eg. of Minor: Colour changes, adjusting outlines, etc.)

If it happens so that I'm unable to complete your work (unless you're willing to wait)
or I feel that I cannot achieve your wants (within the SKETCHES/OUTLINES stage),
I'll alert you and it will be followed up by a refund.

     * However, If YOU aren't happy with the finished artwork,
it will not count as a refund.
You simply won't have to pay the remaining 50%.

     * The same applies if YOU want to pull out halfway,
it will not count as a refund as well.

     * Please don't think that it's unfair, as I'm already making a loss if the
        full payment isn't made.
This is because I have already invested my time into making your artwork,
        and you can't refund time.
I'll be on the losing end either way.

If you guys read this far then you should already know what you
can, can't, should, and shouldn't do.

If you don't,
then go back up there and read the rules you lazy bastard!

GardevoirAndMe-says-f-u by RandoWis

SO, since that's out of the way,
right now you're probably asking:

"Alright Eyebrows, what can you draw for me?!"

Untitled-1 by RandoWis

What I DO draw?
- I draw people!
   ► Fanarts
   ► OC's
   ► Light Yuri (WITH CLOTHES)
 - If you'd like someone in real life to be drawn in any of the styles below, I can do that too.
Just give me enough character references for any of the above!
-  Simple or no backgrounds please.

* I draw on a square canvas. No particular reason, just a personal preference.

What I DO NOT draw?
- Gore (Yelgh)
- Porn/Hentai (Watching is different though)
- Yaoi (My ass hurts just thinking about it)
- Furries (Don't want to clog my laptop air vents)
- Beasts (Pokemon, Digimon, Animals etc)
[Despite drawing them in my comics, I don't feel good enough to commission them.]
- Complicated Backgrounds (I do not have the skill for such mastery!)
- Mecha (Sorry heavy-metal fans)
- CHIBIS (I'm still practising trying to draw those cute little bastards)

"What will I receive?"

All commissions come in a standard JPEG size ► (2040x2040, 300 DPI, JPEG)
-You will receive a JPEG, not PSD. Please don't get confused.-

Once again, I draw on a square canvas.

Hey would it be alright if I used the vast majority of this as a guideline for commissions of my own? It covers all the important details in a very simple way, and I have never done commissions before.

If I ask you to do a thumbnail for a gamer channel on youtube and I want the part number on the thumbnail, do I have to message you everytime I need the next thumbnail for the next part since you only send jpeg and not psd?

just to clarify, when you say no mecha, does that includes any form of technological armor such as exo/powered armors ? (e.g.: ironman, space marines, fallout powered suit, etc)

I am distraught that you don't draw Pokemon. I absolutely love the way you draw Gardevoir and really wanted to see what she would look like in higher detail. T^T. I still love your stuff though.

Heya Rando, I wouldn't suggest telling people to use the family/friends option, instead asking them to cover the fee. You can both recieve a fee of up to 10k if you're caught selling stuff through that option. :c A friend of mine had it happen to em. I love your art and would hate to see something like that happen to you!

Damn.... suddenly I feel that you wouldn't want to try drawing my Noids...
Hmm... human characters...
RandoWis Featured By Owner Oct 18, 2015   Digital Artist
Hey, why not? It'll be like drawing monster girls!
If you don't mind humans with Noid features that is!
As long as I'm not drawing a full animal or beast. (Coz I cant, sorry.)
qjzdavf Featured By Owner Oct 18, 2015  Student General Artist
Wait what?  No, a Noid is an Anthromorphic bug... thing furries except instead of animals, bugs... (Thought I never got around to designing their reproductive cells... (Noids don't have Bananas to grab (Wink wink) or women parts to look at))

I may just have you do one or my human characters... unless you want to be the one to design the sword 'Stormbringer'...
RandoWis Featured By Owner Edited Oct 19, 2015   Digital Artist
Sure thing!
Sorry but I'm terrible at weapon designs though!
qjzdavf Featured By Owner Edited Oct 19, 2015  Student General Artist
Well Stormbringer isn't really fancy... but I think I just found someone I'd love you to design.  How about it?  Want to try to design a GOD?!  (Not really design... I'm finishing that now actually, but I'd love it to see Xfinity in done similar to how you do your anime!

If not then I'd still sponsor you to draw my furor... he was an old friend in high school who passed away recently due to a stroke... he couldn't have been no more then 21 or 22 when he died... if that's the case then I'll send you a picture and I'd like you to look like a somewhat older gentleman... Ringo was always my leader growing up so I think he should be Humanity's Emperor in my story...
RandoWis Featured By Owner Oct 19, 2015   Digital Artist
Whichever you'd like drawn first!
Feel free to drop me a note with the details then!
qjzdavf Featured By Owner Oct 19, 2015  Student General Artist
Well if I remember correctly I believe you said one per customer... now I have this debate... I think I'll go with the furor though just so you have it easier and I can finish Xfinity...  I'll contact you when I've scanned his funeral program picture... that's how I'd like him drawn... I'll contact you with more details when I have everything ready.

Take your time.
I'll be here!

Eclipse Change Log: December 12, 2018

This week, nearly the whole DeviantArt team — encompassing staff members from Los Angeles, Tel Aviv, Kiev, and Vancouver, to name a few — has come together at our HQ in Hollywood to focus on Eclipse and plan what’s in store for 2019.

As a reminder, we’re continuing to work on the bigger community feedback concerns — including customization and improvements to Feedback — and we hope to share more soon.

Since the holidays are coming up, and many people on our team are traveling or taking time off, we won’t have a change log to share for a short while. But we want to let you all know that we are continuing to review and analyze your feedback, and we look forward to sharing more updates with you early next year!

Change Log

Literature descriptions are back! (Popular request!)After replying to a comment in Feedback, the notification is now automatically removed. (Popular request!)Comment link pages now have "parent" and "top" buttons, and are now centered for easy readability. (Popular request!)Scraps are back! You can now mention a deviant just by typing (rather than selecting them from the list). The Gift dropdown on profile now tells you when you've already given them a llama or they are full of cake. Removed minimum character count in Status Updates and Journals, allowing deviants to share a post that simply includes a deviation, gallery, or video.

Eclipse Change Log: December 5, 2018

Another week, another change log! Thank you for your continued feedback and bug reports!

Please keep in mind that larger feature requests and issues take additional time to address — but know we are actively working on them. In the meantime, we’ll continue to share these change logs with some of the smaller changes and bug fixes, so that you follow along with the progress of Eclipse.

We’ve also been receiving reports about various issues regarding images, image compression, image URLs, and filenames. DeviantArt recently switched to a new system to serve images and we’re currently looking into the issues that you’ve been reporting.

Change Log

New deviation background presets have been added!GIF avatars are now scaled scaled up properly, preserving their pixelated look without any blurring. Thank you to all those who brought up this issue!Premium Content now has a more prevalent Buy button.Mentions now contain user symbols.Fixed issue where mentions would not work when you simply typed @@username(rather than typing and selecting a username from the list).Thumbnails in Feedback notifications are now clickable.Fixed issue where mentions displayed in green rather than white. The appearance of the search box was fixed when searching from the Notes, Groups, Forums, and various other pages.Prints can now be enabled on new deviations.Fixed issue where, after adding an image or a gallery to a comment, pressing the left or right arrow keys would leave the page rather than move your cursor.Fixed issues where tooltips were cut off behind other elements of the page.Fixed issue where Eclipse would not create URLs properly for Collections with spaces or other non-alphanumeric characters in the title would, causing an error if opened on the old site.Various other smaller bug fixes and visual changes.
