 I didn't want to take the cable car on Christmas Eve. But last minute Christmas shopping at the last of the open shops and Mom's wish to be rid of the last of her never-expiring cable car passes had me do so. Hence, at my own light speed, I race down the street with two bags clutched in my thinly gloved hands, hoping to lessen the wait by doing so.
