I still might work on the image some more sometimes...
As you have noticed, his arms are rather bulky, this is how i picture him. IMO someone who barely uses his legs, swings around like a monkey needs strong arm, makes him look a bit mature too...
The pants are very high, those are suit pants. Originally he also had a bow tie around his neck but that made him look like a wuss...

Spidey all super skinny is definitely still viable, but he's more of a kid like that, when he first got his powers. It makes sense for him to be thicker/older when Venom is around.
