I was planning to paint a dragon on my living room wall, so of course I needed to try first. This is my first round canvas and honestly, the dragon design could use some more work ;) It's an ink pen drawing on transparent paper mounted to the canvas board, painted in acrylics and coloured pencils, and then metallic pencils and even brass foil (that I initially bought for my lightsbaers) for the magic pearl. I really like using these bits; I feel childish for it but it's so much fun.
As most of my traditional paintings, you can purchase this piece on Etsy, www.etsy.com/listing/828250057…

I love this! It could use some refinement, yeah, but it has a great sense of energy. I like the extreme contrast of the orange and blue.

My only issue is that the blue dragon and the blue of the water may be too similar. The dragon isn't getting lost, or anything like that, but I'm not sure how I feel about the body not standing out from the background nearly as much as the hair stands out from both of them.

Still a pretty handsome dragon overall. Very nice.

I had my typical problems of messing up some technical bits - the transparent paper I drew on increases A LOT in size when wet while I mount it. The arms are not spaced well. And yeah, I hated the background colour but thought maybe it's just my pet peeve of disliking baby blue ;) So I'm regarding this more as a study than a proper painting, but it was still fun, and the metal foil is nice to use. The next one will be better planned.

Thank you for taking the time!;)
