Cubes

By Ranarh
All the cubes had turned into only smaller cubes, so eventually the natives had stopped trying to smash them, but still made a point to not accept the angular tyranny.

Argh, geometrical objects. They do make any landscape instantly alien though.

I snorted at the description's "not accept the angular tyranny".

:D I used to study architecture. You CANNOT for the life of you get a non-angular design past a professor, they all think in furniture fitting in and whatnot. And then, lo and behold! all non-angular buildings are sold out faster than you can say "artistic revolution". If I ever get around to building my own house, there won't be a single perpendicular angle in it, I swear.

Thanks! I get so little done between holidays, it's almost depressing - I do need my daily dose of brushstrokes to be happy ;)

They look like massive crystals of galena!

Minerals are very inspiring for alien landscapes, and I often wish to paint more of them. Galena would be terrible to have around in such quantity though ;) they should only drink rain water. Although... it might explain her pallor?
Stunning Concept

Thanks! I made an image with 3D objects for regular RPG dice shapes, you have no idea how hard the math was to calculate those bodies ;) But now that I have 'em, maybe I will make some more sketchy pieces like these with other shapes as well.

Thanks! I'm happy with the lighting. I've been using more screenshots as references for that and the result is rather satisfying.

Yes, it turned out beautifully!
