Even as the adventurer's advance into the gloom Death stalks them...
This painting is the cover for the forthcoming Talisman boardgame expansion - The Reaper, for Fantasy Flight Games.
I wanted to create a stylised composition with the figure of the Reaper looming over the hapless adventurer's, who are focused on something ahead in the darkness. This was reflected in the tightly rendered finish.
The background was deliberately rendered with looser brushstrokes to help bring the figures forward, and it will also be largely obscured by the title.
