Woohoo it's that time again... seems like ages since I had some decent leave (November doesn't count...). Anyway today is day 1 and I'm not booked to go anywhere yet, but I have a few ideas after finding a few cheap flights. At the moment I'm thinking... a few days of hang-gliding tuition in Los Angeles? Nice and warm, great time of year to learn, and something I've wanted to learn for ages. I already know I can't afford to go nuts over there, although I wish I could. Anyway it's an idea I'm working on now.
Apart from that... found a second-hand general lens for my Canon, the 18-55mm IS EF-S. It would have been bundled with my 50D, but

A really plesant surprise was during my leave. After the funeral, and once a few vital things were done, I managed to go out to Vancouver Island to see my friends out there, and was able to do a few days volunteering at Pacific Northwest Raptors. It's an awesome place, and helped me miss some horrendous weather back in the UK. The night I arrived on the island it was raining stairods, and the roads had standing water and no cats-eyes since the snow ploughs had popped them off.
