I'm at a loss for words... I read the description on one of the other versions you posted and I think that the thought and feeling you put into your paintings really show thru. Especially in this painting in particular there is a mix of emotions in your fathers face, but there is an undertone of sadness and longing. He manages to look all-powerful and yet lost at the same time, and you have captured so much more than all of that into this wonderful work of art. To me the piece carries with it so many emtoions, stories, adventures and meanings that it really has encompassed "Time" itself. Your talent and skill is undeniable, but what really makes you the master I belive you are is less about what your paintings look like, and more about how they feel. Especially when it comes to those where you use your family for models.

The whole piece is amazingly detailed and makes me itch to learn how to use oils! This is just fantastic...he has the most fascinating blue eyes.

And all the other little details, such as the translucency of the skin over his arms and all the wrinkles and folds of skin that show his wise age. This one is really quite impressive.

Gah you should tour to Georgia sometime so I can come see your stuff!

The bottom half really pops because of your converging lines on the side, giving the sense that he is really walking out at you from a sort of box... the top is a little flat though, in that if he were stepping out at you, there would probably be his shadow against the background. Otherwise, STUNNING work! I also read your description before and find the story behind it (your dad, etc.) very compelling.

Wonderful work of art. I love the way you painted your fathers portrait, and the look of searching in his eyes. I love the sky in the far background, and the day and night theme with one set of birds active, and the others resting in sleep. I love how 3 dimmensional the figure is, and how he walks on water with Lily Pads for stepping stones. This is a great piece of art, and I love how it deals with the transition from this life to the next. Very moving painting. ...Sincerely...Annie
