May I present to you.... HARRY OTTER! *insert hp theme song here*

Finished for the Scholastic Art Competition with 42 minutes to spare! I think its my finest procrastination job yet.

So, this is my third scratchboard, this time of a lovely otter whose photo was taken by B-F-G [link] (thank you!)

I hope you like it! I nearly stabbed myself with the exacto knife midway through and cursed myself and existence multiple times, but here he is, finished, after about a year, Harry Otter!

Enjoy. (:

completely amazing!
It's a very real looking otter and I love the harry potter theme very original. I also love the wet affect on the fur, very affective. The wand and glasses make the whole drawing look cuter!
This artwork appeal to animal fans and harry potter fans and I love this artworks overall impact an appeal <img src="e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s…" width="15" height="15" alt=":)" title=":) (Smile)"/>
The artist who drew this is incredibly talented <img src="e.deviantart.net/emoticons/b/b…" width="15" height="15" alt=":D" title=":D (Big Grin)"/>

I thought this was an amazing pencil work at first until I saw the word "scratch board". After looking up what scratch board was I'm a bit shocked and even more impressed. I remember a similar medium back in high school---colored paper that had a layer of black coating that you etched off---and no one was skilled enough to create anything amazing out of it. You used scratch board and made me speechless!

This piece has incredible detail. Everything from the wood grain in the wand, the reflectiveness of the glasses, and the little things like the texture on the otter's nose. The fur is perhaps the most impressive of all the details. Fur is hard to convey in a lot of art mediums. The fur is realistic and looks like its wet. The fact that its etched rather than drawn make it even more impressive.

Its almost a simple piece---an otter with Harry Potter glasses and a wizard's wand---but yet its complicated with all the little intricate details. And I love the concept of Harry Potter as an otter and find it funny.

The First Thing I Must Say Is That, The Word Detail Is Incredibly Expressed All Over This Amazing, Outstanding Piece Of Work. Every Fine Line Was Detailed To Create Something Unimaginable and Creative That Really Does Come To A Silly, Yet Appealing Sense Of Character. I'm Not Sure If You Did, But I Took Liking To How The Way The Otter's Fur Was Drawn As If He Was Wet, Adds On To The Amazing Detail. As You Noticed, I Expressed The Word Detail Many Times, That Was Because That's What You Expressed Most Throughout This Project. Amazing Job, Congratulations On Your Artwork.

Wow this looks totally awe...some.....wait....whats a scratch board ? *Google*...... HOLY BANANAS D: You did this With THAT!?!?!?!?!?!

The detailing you've achieved puts me in a slight state of awe now that I know what you actually did this on, The fur, the whiskers even the detailing on the wand...You even textured its nose , this takes a lot of work to achieve in pencil or on a computer, yet you did this with a Xacto knife and a surface that scratches off in white instead of black. This thing just blows my mind, like totally D: I was barely able to make a Mirror template with an Xacto back at Mililani High in ACCP, and if that took a lot of work and patience this must have been a HUGE task.

This is my first critique, and I'm glad I have the chance to look over this!

Ok, the fur detail in this is amazing! I can see each little peice of fur. The glasses and wand look incredibly natural, and I adore those whiskers! I have to give this beatiful work of art five stars, and I wish I could give it six! Beatiful scratchboard work! The hours you spent working on this shows in the beatiful little details like the nose. I hope that you keep up the amazing work and I hope to see more from you soon!

I had to give this all five stars. This is so incredible. I love the details first of all, you did a fantastic job there. I also love the idea - it is really unique. The way his hand fades into the black in such a contrast-y way is really interesting as well and his wand looks great. You paid so much attention to detail to create something realistic yet not something that can really happen in life. I also love the otter's expression, something about it just looks great.

You seem to do a great job with scratchboard, keep it up! I love it <img src="e.deviantart.net/emoticons/b/b…" width="15" height="15" alt=":D" title=":D (Big Grin)"/>

Wow this is highly detailed!  Who is the feline/canine wizard/witch reflected in Harry's eye??  They look like they are casting a spell at our Mustelid hero.
