Sometimes I'm sitting by myself And I begin to dream Of worlds where I am happy - Where I'm anyone but me. In all these worlds I find myself So happy and carefree. It's so different from who I am, The girl who, here, I see. The beauty and the wonder That I try so hard to find Can only exist In the recesses of my mind. Mommy says she loves her Daddy says he cares But somehow everything they do Reminds her they're not there Sometimes she looks up for them From her place, crying, on the floor And she finds she's not surprised When they're not waiting anymore For baby girl to grow up And dry her big blue eyes 'Cause they've seemed to have decided That they can't see it when she cries.
