The Trail to Enlightenment,
A young man seeking enlightenment was walking down a forest trail one day, when he met another traveler. The traveler walked with confidence and kept his gaze always ahead, not once looking down. This interested the young man, so he asked the traveler,
"Sir, why do you keep looking to the trail ahead of you and not once at your feet?"
The traveler stopped and answered, "I focus on the trail ahead of me so that I might know what dangers are in store for a traveler such as me."
"But, are you not afraid of tripping?" asked the young man.
"If I know what lies ahead of me, then I should not fear tripping," he relied.
The young man nodded and they parted ways.
Later that day, the young man met another traveler. However, this man walked with gaze always at where he stepped instead of the trail ahead of him. This interested the young man, so he asked the traveler, "Sir, why do you focus your gaze on where you step instead of the on the trail ahead of you?"
The traveler stopped and answered, "I

Megapixels aren't everything
Only a few years ago, finding a five or six megapixel camera was hard -- not to mention a bit expensive. But, as with any technology, the price eventually comes down. Now there are eight, 10, 12 and higher megapixels available, but it doesn't mean that a camera with only five is obsolete.
The best digital cameras out there don't necessarily have the most megapixels. Now, I do understand that having a 16.7 megapixel Canon is obviously not a setback -- but you can find quality cameras that are in the five to six megapixel range.
Remember, megapixels don't automatically make for a better picture. They increase the photographer's ability to zoom in digitally and while retaining picture clarity. They also allow for tighter cropping while still producing a quality image. For most day-to-day use, and most print sizes under 11x16, a smaller megapixel count can perfectly do the trick.
Here are a few great cameras in the under $900.00 range that can get the job done, and most people will never b

not so random thoughts...
you know in your heart, you've made the right choice yet even that does not make the path ahead seem any easier.
sometimes you turn a corner you know must turn even though you have no way of knowing for sure down which hall you will walk, what obstacle you will encounter or how long before you see another open door.
just as your own experience has taught you, history does not necessarily mean a good story and a story does not always have a tidy end.
sometimes you never really know the full extent of the sacrifice you've made until years later when it is far too late to fully appreciate what you lost and for whatever you've gained there is no comparsion to where you once were.

Valentine SWAP Project
Ok... How many people would like to participate in a "Valentine Swap"? New people, my watchers, WHOEVER!
PARTICIPATE NOW IN THE SUPER SPECIAL
 VALENTINE SWAP!

How it Works:
I get all the names and at the deadline (SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 4th) I will randomly match up names to each person's secret "valentine".
I will then send out notes on MONDAY, FEBRUARY 5th (busy visiting my family that weekend) to each participant with their secret valentine. You will then have over a week to do your picture and upload it. If you cannot finish it by February 14th then you will have to do a small "apology/WIP" pic of some kind to at least notify your "secret" valentine on Valentine's Day that its still in progress and they weren't forgotten.
Rules:
* Note me your name and promising that you WILL do your part in the Valentine Swap, by puting "I demand my valentine" in the subject, or it will be deleted. No matter who you are.
* You get who I give you, no switching o

Life
We sit here, watching the river slide by; it never stops, never slows, just carries on by, no matter how hard we stare. The days of our lives slip past us, fleeting glimpses of moments good and bad. Try to cup some in your hand - see how it escapes? It's useless to try, time will always be your master. The only thing you can do is remember, try to store these times in your head. But how can you possibly remember every droplet that passes, every day and every person? Those memories will fade, you will forget.
See the bodies floating by? Occaisonally, they slip from the banks and into the water, to be carried away. Maybe if you look hard enough, you could remember their faces - there, him, you knew him - can you remember how? Or why? What was he like? Too late, he is gone. That one there, you knew her; she made you laugh. Why did you never talk to her? Did you think she would never slip and float away? Her eyes may be blank and lifeless now, but she wa
